Socialite Kate Waterhouse and her former rugby league player husband Luke Ricketson have listed a Potts Point property for a February auction.

The couple, with daughters Grace and Sophia, reside at luxurious home fronting Balmoral Beach, bought for $17.8m in 2020. It was one of Mosman’s highest sales that year.

But this is an investment unit at 7/244-246 William St, bought in Ms Waterhouse’s name in 2010, for $525,000, that’s now up for February 13 auction with a $900,000 price guide.

It’s understood they’re now looking to buy a larger investment property.

Listing agent Samuel Schumann of Raine & Horne Unlimited expects the unit, on level two, will be popular.

“Given the location, it’s going to appeal to young professionals, first-home buyers and investors,” Mr Schumann said.

“It’s a great two-bedder, a decent size and open plan — a fantastic unit!”

Property records show the rent for the semi-furnished unit jumped from $791 in October 2021 to $900 in July, 2023.

Mr Schumann estimates it could fetch between $950 and $1050 per week in the current market.

The unit, with 50sqm of internal space and a 13sqm balcony, is one of 25 in the block that was built in 1998.

The block is pet-friendly, subject to application with the owner’s corporation.
