Entered by lift, it’s a space on the first floor that is the husband’s favourite room.

It has taken five years to sculpt this home from a sandstone headland above Freshwater Beach, but for builder and designer couple Terry and Gina Androutsos it has been a labour of love.

With 607sq m of internal space, the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home at 62 Evans St, up for auction on November 5 with a $14.5m price guide via Belle Property Manly’s Anthony Calacoci, packs a punch on a low-maintenance block.

There is an internal lift to each of the four levels, an 11m long gym on the ground floor and a four-car garage.

The first floor has a self-contained flat and the top two levels are for family living with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, living and dining spaces, a marble kitchen and a barbecue terrace, alfresco entertaining and a heated infinity pool.

Giant walls of glass reveal the beach, North Head and the ocean, and the house is full of imported stone and timber coupled with cutting-edge home automation.

Why investors are jumping back into the market

Gina, an interior stylist, designed the whisky room with its integrated marble bar, two wine fridges and dishwasher, dramatic glass chandelier and black and white tiled floor.

“It’s now my husband’s favourite room,” she says.

The helical staircase joining the top two levels is pure Italian art.

To the north is an easy-care level garden, while the many extras include an outdoor wet bar, barbecue and pizza oven, limestone and marble bathrooms, home automation operated by phone app, ducted aircon, wi-fi boosters, electric blinds, solar panels and a vast internal storeroom.
