FANCY a cup of tea?

Well here’s the perfect property to brew one in — a tiny house shaped like a teapot and it could be yours for just under $19,000.

The property, near the Scottish Borders village of Lilliesleaf is listed for sale for £10,000. It was

originally designed as a wood shed by its current owner, artist and sculptor Ian Hunter, The Telegraph in the UK reports.

Now fully refurbished, the structure has two levels. The ground floor is accessible through a drop-down door in the spout, and there are steps inside the handle to take you to the top floor.

A “lid” opens up to let light in, and the building is ready to be dismantled and delivered to its new owner.

At only 6.4 metres in diameter, don’t expect to be able to host large gatherings but it would be the perfect venue for an intimate tea party.

Real estate agent Tony Perriam of Rettie and Co told The Telegraph: “It would be ideal for a quirky summer house, or as a fishing hut for an imaginative river bank proprietor on the Tweed.

“It’s highly adaptable, and its substantial construction means that power water supplies and drainage could readily be connected, depending on its final destination.”

According to the property listing, “The Magical Teapot would make a fabulous addition to any visitor attraction — as a feature for a children’s playground; as a quirky fishing hut; as a reception area/tea room/exhibition space etc; as a VIP lounge/viewing platform or press office at any outdoor event or simply the most enchanting ‘Hobbit Hideaway’.

“One thing is for sure, it always makes folk smile, lifts their spirits — they just can’t help themselves!”

It’s certainly more livable than a tea-bag house. And just think what Australian architects could achieve if they brought our national pastimes to life in house form. A sixpack home, anyone?
