Home with AC/DC link sells
FORMER AC/DC bass guitarist Mark Evans and his family have sold their home of more than 15 years for $1.32 million.
FORMER AC/DC bass guitarist Mark Evans and his family have sold their home of more than 15 years for $1.32 million.
And the new buyers didn’t just get the house but Evans through in a signed guitar and a copy of his book Dirty Deeds: My Life Inside/Outside of AC/DC.
Evans was a guitarist with AC/DC from 1975 to 1977.
The high-voltage auction of 12 Starling St, Lilyfield, attracted seven registered bidders and a big crowd of neighbours and onlookers.
“It was fast and furious,’’ said selling agent and Pilcher Residential director Simon Pilcher.
“The auction started fairly high at $1.2 million and seven bids later it sold for $1.32 million.’’
Jean Mostyn and Damien Cooper beat out another bidder to secure the three-bedroom cottage.
“The new owners were a carbon copy of Mark and his wife Billie when they bought the property,’’ Mr Pilcher said.
“It’s almost eerie. They are a couple with a toddler under the age of two and when Mark and Billie bought the property their daughter was about the same age,” he said,
“It was a strong campaign with 150 groups in total in a three-week period and to have seven registered bidders on the day. The market conditions are similar to where we left off late last year.’’
The turn-of-the-century weatherboard cottage has a separate artist’s studio.
