WELL that’s Christmas done and dusted for another year, now it’s time to concentrate on New Year’s Eve.

If you haven’t made plans yet we’ve found the best places to rent for New Year’s Eve to catch the fireworks.

If you’ve missed out on them this year, there’s plenty of time to get in early to make sure you’ve booked the perfect spot to see in the New Year next year and enjoy the fireworks without battling the crowds.

Here are some of the best holiday rentals to watch fireworks from listings on Stayz.

GOLD COAST

This five-bedroom property, called Mermaid Heaven, is on the waterfront at Mermaid Waters on the Gold Coast.

MELBOURNE

An apartment in one of Southbank’s most coveted locations Freshwater Place will give you great views of the New Year’s Eve fireworks plus plenty more.

It has three bedrooms and a balcony and large living areas, don’t fit the crowds just sit back, relax and look out the windows.

And if you get sick of sitting in the apartment you can use the complex’s facilities which include a gym, pool, sauna, spa, and sundeck garden area.

The riverfront apartment has views over the Yarra River, mountain ranges and the city.

It rents from $470 per night with a minimum stay of between five and seven nights.

Also in Melbourne is Luxico - The Grand Loft at Fitzroy.

The converted warehouse has exposed brick walls, leather sofas and modern dining furniture.

There are two bedrooms downstairs one with a ladder to a mini mezzanine level.

Upstairs houses the master retreat and staircase to a private roof terrace which gives views across the city, and makes it perfect for capturing New Year’s Eve fireworks displays.

SYDNEY

Point Piper is the home of this apartment in The Sienna contemporary hotel. The three-bedroom apartment has harbour views and is within an exclusive neighbourhood close to the CBD.

There is also a private jetty if you want to head out on the water.

HOBART
Library House was ranked as one of Australia’s ‘top five new getaways’ by Virgin in 2014.

In the hills of West Hobart, the five-bedroom house has 280 degree views overlooking the River Derwent.

It is close to the Hobart CBD and can accommodate up to eight people.

PERTH

A townhouse in the Port Sails Canal Villa in Mandurah offers great opportunities to see the fireworks on New Year’s Eve.

It has canal views and can accommodate six people in three bedrooms. There is also an outdoor entertaining and barbecue area.
