Facebook exec’s former home has$8.25m guide
The former Facebook exec’s incredible onetime home has a secret room behind a bookcase.
Advertising businessman Stuart Archibald has listed his Modernist Middle Cove house.
He bought it from former Facebook chief executive Paul Borrud and it’s next door to the record-breaking home of the late newsreader Brian Henderson.
Number 15 The Quarterdeck hit the headlines in 2020 when it sold for $7.25m, smashing the suburb record by some $3m.
A year later its neighbour, 13 The Quarterdeck went one better, trading for $11.5m and setting a new benchmark for the small north shore suburb.
Number 13 had been held by the legendary television newsman and his wife Mardi for 27 years.

Number 15 The Quarterdeck has architectural provenance and has been beautifully reimagined.
The original home was designed in 1959 by Glynn Nicholls, the son of Eric Nicholls, partner of internationally acclaimed architect Walter Burley Griffin.
Facebook executive Borrud renovated the mid-century home, which is on 1252sq m of land, more than doubling its scale and maximising the harbour views and natural setting.
The original facade has been preserved but inside are drama and high technology, large picture windows, oversized living spaces and even a secret wine cellar and tasting room behind a bookcase.
The house has six bedrooms, five bathrooms and parking for three cars.
A pool, lawn and decks give it the feel of a grand lifestyle resort.
It is being auctioned by Mark Jackson of Belle Property Cammeray on March 1 and has a guide of $8.25m.
At that level it would be the second most valuable house in Middle Cove.
Archibald has exited his shared agency, Archibald Williams, and is focused on expanding his independent advertising business, CA.5. He and his family will split their time between Sydney and London.
