Price revealed: Lleyton and Bec Hewitt’s beach house sale
Here’s how much the tennis great and his actor wife really scored for their luxury beach retreat — and why the sale was anything but game, set, and match.
Tennis champion Lleyton Hewitt and his actor wife Bec sold their luxury beach house for$4.9m after a sales campaign that was far from game, set, and match.
The star couple dropped the asking price of their coveted Gold Coast home by $200,000 to secure the deal.
It came two months after an onsite auction where nobody registered to bid, despite more than 100 spectators.
Known as The Palms, the property was then listed at $5.1m and sold in January to a Queensland buyer.
While the sale price remains undisclosed in property records, the agent who sold the home to the Hewitts in 2021 revealed it online.
The latest deal closed just after Wimbledon champion Hewitt returned to the Australian Open, where he teamed up with Pat Rafter for the Legend’s Cup doubles tournament.
Located at popular Burleigh Heads, the Palm Springs-inspired home was marketed by Carol and Blair Carter, of Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty.
The house went under contract more than 102 days after hitting the market, with the buyer signing on the dotted line alongside a confidentiality agreement preventing the agents from publicly discussing details of the sale.
Ms Carter did not disclose the sale price but said both buyer and seller were “over the moon”.
“It is a lovely home in a great location and the buyer is looking forward to moving into their new home,” she said.
The Hewitts bought the Deodar Drive property for $4.305m in 2021, when it last hit the market under similarly colourful circumstances.
Their purchase came just a month after the home previously settled, with local property investor Jeremy Langston splashing $3.75m to take the keys, but quickly flipping it in favour of another project.
Coastal agent Ed Cherry sold the house to Mr Langston and the Hewitts, and said the celebrity couple had only stayed there three or four times since.
“They bought it because of Bec’s eye for architecture and their son Cruz’s tennis commitments at one stage on the Gold Coast,” Mr Cherry said.
“I ran into Lleyton once or twice at Tarte café in Burleigh and he loved the area’s village feel.”

Before purchasing The Palms, the Hewitt family had been renting a nearby home while rising player Cruz trained at the KDV Tennis Academy.
Built by JSW Landscape and Design founders Jay and Emma Walker, the home on a 539 sqm block has inspired numerous contemporary builds with its stunning coastal design.
An open-plan kitchen, living and dining area flows to an outside entertaining area with a sunken fireplace, glass-edged pool and outdoor kitchen.
Flawless finishes throughout the trophy home include Italian Venetian plaster and terrazzo tiles, Santorini Clay stone feature walls, custom Australian brass tapware and American Oak timber floors.
Upstairs are three ensuited bedrooms, including a lavish master with built-in seating, custom dressing room and designer ensuite, while a guest bedroom and office are on the ground floor.
PropTrack data shows house prices in Burleigh Heads were up 4.4 per cent to a median of $1.41m.
