Isla Fisher’s cheap win from marriage split
Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen could have had it all when it came to an Aussie lifestyle, but the former Home and Away star won’t walk away with nothing.
Isla Fisher will likely enjoy a small at-home win from her high profile divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen, despite the couple passing on at least one top end mansion buy.
The Hollywood couple announced last week they had called it quits after 13 years of marriage. In co-ordinated posts on Instagram Fisher and Baron Cohen announced the news.
“After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down,” the posts read.
“In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritised our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change.
“We forever share in our devotion and love for our children.”

The couple and their three children had been living between Perth, Sydney, London and Hollywood.
And despite calling Australia home for large parts of their relationship, they don’t appear to have bought any homes together Down Under.
The Aussie actress and English comedian were spotted house hunting in Sydney’s affluent Eastern Suburbs in April 2021. But the Kings Rd, Vaucluse home sold to other buyers for more than $11m a month later, around $3m more than expectation.

The home featured its own squash court, swimming pool, sunny north aspect and panoramic 270 degree harbour views, from the Harbour Bridge to Mosman, Watsons Bay, Manly and The Heads. There are sundecks surround the pool, along with tranquil gardens and water features.
Fisher and Baron Cohen reportedly spent some time at a Darling Point mansion, also in Sydney’s east, that cost around $100,000 a week and sold for $24m in November 2022. The three-level home boasts 648 sqm of space, six bedrooms, 7 bathroom, 4 car spots, and cracking Harbour views.

But according to property records the only home either of the couple own in Australia is the two-bedroom Woollahra unit Fisher bought in 1995 and still owns, for $171,500 as a 19-year-old just a year after she first started starring on Home and Away.
Fisher has since kept the home as an investment. She offered discounted rent of $400 a week during Covid – the previous rent in 2018 was $650 per week.
PropTrack automated rental estimates suggest the rent would be about $765 per week.
According to PropTrack, the median price for a two-bed unit in Woollahra, in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs is $1.31m.
