IF you have $50,000 a month for rent one of Sydney’s most exclusive homes could be for you.

Australia’s most valuable property Elaine has hit the rental market.

And for $50,000 a month the seven-bedroom waterfront estate at Point Piper could be all yours.

“We are looking for $50,000 a month, its a giveaway at that,” said rental listing agent Tom Pockley of Pockley & Roderick.

The rental offering comes at the same time that the home is also on the market, with reports that it could be the country’s most expensive house - when it sells.

Listed with Ken Jacobs Christies International Real Estate the home owned by the Fairfax family, has been reported to have had offers of up to $67 million.

Elaine has classic interiors and magnificent views.

Nearby Altona also in Point Piper and which sits on a site three times smaller than Elaine sold for $53 million in 2013, making it Sydney’s most expensive property.

The classic Victorian mansion comes with ballroom, a tennis court, direct frontage onto Seven Shillings Beach and cover 1.72 acres.

Most importantly the property covers six seperate titles. That lends itself to being developed into a “magnificent family compound to potential luxury apartment development” according to its sale ad.

Mr Pockley said there had already been enquiries on the rental.

He said the property had previously been rented to “high powered business people with families” and he expected that would be the profile of the next tenant.
