South Australia’s ‘most viewed’ home has been crowned – it’s a stately, picture-perfect mansion that looks straight out of a movie set.

Located 17km from the city in the Adelaide foothills, ‘Yatahlia Manor’ on 488-500 Yatala Vale Rd, has been ranked as the ‘most viewed’ listing on realestate.com.au for 2022.

From a luxurious resort-style home to a sprawling property with amazing views, a fairy-tale mansion to a home guarded by Transformers, REA data has revealed the most-viewed real estate listings of 2022.

Top 10 Most Viewed Homes in SA*

1. 488-500 Yatala Vale Road, Yatala Vale

Nestled in its own botanic setting with immaculate gardens and a duck pond with a fountain, the home amassed 63,000 views online.

Inspired by French provincial architecture, the owners spent years transforming what was once a council dumping ground and a pottery factory into a stunning manor.

Boasting 2,271sqm of living area, there are multiple formal as well as casual living and dining rooms including a wood-panelled library, a home cinema with stadium seating, a music studio, an arts and crafts room, a billiards room, a gym and a games room with a bar.

While it was listed earlier this year with a $12million price tag, it has now been taken off the market.

2. 23 Old Carey Gully Road, Stirling

True to its name, ‘Colonial Park Estate’ exudes sheer opulence and offers a luxurious acreage lifestyle.

Nestled in the Adelaide Hills, this stunning property, currently listed for sale, is set on over four hectares of land and boasts a six-bedroom manor sitting pretty amid botanical country gardens.

The stately residence which features a home theatre, a ballroom-sized formal living room as well as an outdoor pavilion, heated pool and spa was the second most viewed SA property on realestate.com.au. It has garnered 55,000 views.

3. 9 Parkers Road, Torrens Park

Getting 49,000 views, this Torrens Park home looks like it was taken straight out of a Roger Moore-starrer James Bond film.

The mid-century modern masterpiece designed like a ship by the renowned architect, the late Peter Jansen, delighted more than just architecture fans.

Set on a large private allotment of two titles, totalling 18,919sqm (approx.), it sold for $2.8m in April this year.

4. 6 Panorama Court, Paringa

This luxury Riverland home, currently listed for $2,950,000, will make you stop in your tracks, or in this case, the front yard.

With two giant Transformer statues guarding the front of the property, it’s not surprising this home amassed 47,000 views.

With the vendors huge Transformers fans, the six-bedroom home also features an indoor cinema, a playground and a water slide. The two custom-made Transformers are negotiable as part of the sale as they are 14 foot (4m) items and weigh 1.5 tonnes each.

5. 195 Taylors Hill Road, Willunga

There were no signs of the real estate market in SA cooling this year as this Willunga property with sweeping views was snapped in multimillion-dollar deal.

Set on more than 43 hectares of land, this acreage property, which got 46,000 views, was snapped up by a local buyer for an eye-watering $2.46 million.

Architecturally designed, the home boasts five bedrooms, two bathrooms and all the living spaces make the most of the spectacular views.

The property also has six paddocks, a shed, a 15kW solar system, three rainwater tanks, cattle yards and multiple dams across the paddocks.

6. 4 Elizabeth Court, Burnside

The stunning resort-style home in Burnside which has hit the market without a price guide has given buyers the option of purchasing it complete with furniture and artwork.

The home, which garnered 45,000 views online, features 655sqm of indoor and outdoor living space, five bedrooms, an office/studio, multiple entertainment areas, an infinity pool and custom-built furniture throughout.

7. 394 Springs Road, Mount Barker

When At Home’s garden expert and TV host Sophie Thomson listed her famous ‘Sophie’s Patch’ home for sale earlier this year, it made everyone sit up and take notice. Not surprisingly, the home’s online listing amassed 42,000 views.

The historic cottage in Mount Barker, which has now been taken off the market, was fully renovated and is surrounded by a series of flourishing garden zones, including vegie patches, an orchard, hothouse, areas for chicken and geese, and sheds.

The garden art and quirky novelties including a train carriage and a woven treehouse make it a delight to wander through.

8. 5 First Street, Hallett Cove

When we first wrote about this property hitting the market, we called it ‘a dream home in Hallett Cove that has it all’.

With a home theatre fitted with stadium seats, a basketball court, heated swimming pool, spa and in-ground trampoline, this resort-style abode did have it all.

Apart from the furniture, nine television sets, 10 fridges, commercial grade kitchen appliances including dough maker/roller, griddle and deep fryer, ice maker, pizza oven, dishwasher, commercial rangehood and pool table were also part of the deal.

The luxurious resort-style property – it got 40,000 online views – went on to set a new price benchmark for the coastal suburb.

The ‘Queensland-inspired’ five-bedroom, three-bathroom home was snapped up by a local family for $2,650,000, smashing the suburb’s sales record by more than $1 million.

9. 5 Olive Grove, Hazelwood Park

This 1937-built, sandstone-fronted Tudor offered buyers a luxurious lifestyle in an enviable location.

Designed by Proske Architects, the fully renovated home built around a heated in-ground pool, sold for an undisclosed price in March this year. The stunning property got 40,000 views.

The home with its flexible floorplan has multiple living areas, a “show-stopping” kitchen with stone benchtops, underfloor heating to main living room and all bathrooms as well as integrated surround sound to main living and outdoor entertaining areas.

10. 14 Blanford Street, West Croydon

This stunning five-bedroom West Croydon home sold for close to $2m in May this year at auction. It also smashed the suburb record by more than $300,000.

The data shows the home, which was originally built in 1928 but recently renovated, was viewed 40,000 times on realestate.com.au.
