“My grandparents converted the barn into a home, and then my parents renovated it and made it more open-plan and added on a guest wing to suit larger family living,” Ms Matijevic says.

“Then we took it over and did an initial renovation when we moved in, and then this year we gave the home a full renovation, making it our dream home and how we wanted to live in it forever.

“We designed it to be comfortable and with lots of textural detail throughout. We planned to stay, but we’ve now decided we really want to be closer to our family on the Fleurieu Peninsula.”
