Holiday at home in this luxurious Linden Park home
Tennis court? Check. Swimming pool? Check. This stunning property is jam-packed with more than enough to keep a family entertained, and close to everything it could ever need.
Sarah and Darren Ball bought the property at 14 Park Crescent, Linden Park in 2011 as a dated, but tidy, home, recognising its potential for a makeover, and have since set out to create their dream abode jam-packed with everything they need to live their best lives.
“We’ve kept the bones, but there’s not a thing you can see that hasn’t been redone, repainted, or repaired,” Darren says.
“It was in good condition, but it had probably been given a ’90s or 2000s upgrade, so we’ve modernised it with Jag fixtures and Miele products and given it more of an open feel and more of a modern twist on a 1930s Tudor. We’ve really blended the old with the new beautifully.

“We originally bought it because there’s a great park out the front and it was within walking distance of Linden Park Primary, where out kids were going at the time; and Burnside Village which is where we love to shop. The tennis court and pool we thought would be great to get the kids outside and get them active, and they’ve absolutely loved that. Our previous place was on a sloping block so there wasn’t really much space for them to go outside.”
The home features four bedrooms – with effectively two master suites – several indoor and outdoor entertainment areas, a sparkling pool and a tennis court.
“It’s a wonderful family home and a great entertainer,” Darren says.
“It has an alfresco area with an outdoor kitchen which is great for a barbecue while you use the pool and tennis court, and we’ve had some midnight matches out there after a few gin and tonics – it really is just such a great house and we love having people over.
“We’ve had some pretty big parties here too – plenty of kid’s birthdays, my 40th, Christmases – and one New Year’s Eve we had 40 here very comfortably.”
As much as comfort and flow were important to the couple, so was quality.
“We’re really proud of it and we also wanted it to be built to last as well so it would stand the test of time,” Darren says.
“It really is a great family home, and the location really is second to none. Linden Park is a real hidden gem and I don’t think people know it’s here. It will be really hard to leave this place. We’ve loved it.”
