It looked set to be another busy weekend for auctions in South Australia with 150 properties going under the hammer across the state this week.

Of these, 12 auctions would be live streamed on Saturday, courtesy of auction streaming and bidding service Gavl.

AUCTION REPLAYS AND RESULTS:

The auction action was tipped to be the strongest in Prospect which had five auctions scheduled. It was followed by Ingle Farm, Pooraka and Walkerville, scheduled for three auctions each.

According to PropTrack economist Anne Flaherty, the next three weeks looked set to be busy as vendors move to sell before the holidays.

“Nationally, this week will see 2,636 properties head to auction, with a further 3,000 scheduled for the following week,” Ms Flaherty said.

“Despite the rise in auctions over recent weeks, clearance rates are holding relatively steady, sitting between 55-60 per cent.

“While auction volumes are higher compared to the first half of spring, they are down significantly from last year’s levels. In part, this can be attributed to the surge in activity seen following the emergence from lockdowns. However, this year’s rise in sales has been more subdued than typically seen over spring.”
