‘She’s had terrible luck’: Young lotto winner willing to pay $100,000 a year for ‘loyal’ boyfriend

A woman who complained that winning the lotto at 17 “ruined her life” is looking for a boyfriend — and she’s willing to pay him a six-figure salary.

A woman who became the UK’s youngest ever lotto winner at the age of 17 is looking for a “loyal” boyfriend — and she’s willing to pay him a six-figure salary.

Jane Park made headlines around the world when she scooped the £1 million ($1.8 million) EuroMillions prize in 2013, splashing out on cars, holidays and plastic surgery.

After a string of failed relationships, the 23-year-old is launching a website where suitors can apply to be her boyfriend for a £60,000 ($107,000) annual allowance.

According to The Mirror, the interview process will be filmed for a documentary series to air next year. “Jane is amazing and has so much to give but she has found herself alone again as since she won, she’s had terrible luck,” a source told the paper.

“She’s never sure whether she is being loved for herself or for her bank balance. So she would rather have the arrangement out in the open. Jane has a tendency to be insecure sometimes and worries about people’s motives.”

The source said Ms Park was “willing to pay the right price for someone loyal”. “Loyalty is the most important thing to her — the money is a small price to pay,” they said.

Ms Park’s former boyfriends include X Factor finalist Sam Callahan and teen football star Jordan Piggott. In 2016, she dumped boyfriend Mark Scales, branding him a “snake” who used her for money.

“I was trying to buy his love and obviously he didn’t have any feelings,” she said, revealing she bought him a £7000 ($12,500) Rolex, which he sold for £1100 ($1970) “just to get quick cash”.

“And I’m maybe going to have to go to the police to get a Vauxhall Astra back from him as he won’t give it to me even though it’s in my name,” she said.

“I was too generous to him and he just got used to it. If I went out with someone with mega-money and I kept getting gifts, I’d get used to it. He never got a job as he was used to getting from me. I can look at it from both ways and say he used me for money. I’m not getting into a new relationship any time soon.”

Later that year, she issued a bizarre list of rules for her new boyfriend George O’Connor ahead of a holiday in the Spanish island of Ibiza he planned to take without her.

In the list, which went viral after she posted it on social media, she ordered him to “avoid eye contact” with women during the six-day trip with mates.

She warned she would be drug testing him upon his return, checking his mobile for girls’ phone numbers and inspecting his penis for secret tattoos.

Ms Park even had a T-shirt made for him with a photograph of the couple together and the slogan, “If you are reading this … You are too close to my boyfriend.”

Last year, Ms Park complained that the lotto win had “ruined my life”, saying she was considering taking legal action against the UK’s National Lottery for negligence.

“I think 18 should be the minimum age for winning the lottery, at the least. The current age of 16 is far too young,” she told Sunday People.

The Edinburgh, Scotland, native said life was easier back when she was earning £8 ($14) an hour as an admin assistant and living in a two-bedroom council flat with her mum.

“I thought it would make it 10 times better but it’s made it 10 times worse,” she said. “I wish I had no money most days. I say to myself, ‘My life would be so much easier if I hadn’t won.’”

She said people envied her lifestyle and cash but “they don’t realise the extent of my stress”. “I have material things but apart from that my life is empty,” she said.

“What is my purpose in life? It’s scary how different my life is from my friends. When they say they’re stressed about the money they mean their wages are s**t. There’s no one in the same boat as me, no one who really understands. I feel like I’m a 40-year-old.”

Lottery operator Camelot said the minimum age was matter for UK parliament to decide.

“An independent financial and legal panel was set up shortly after Jane’s win and we put her in touch with another ­winner, who won at the same age, to share their experience,” a spokesperson told the paper.

“We have been in touch with Jane from time to time since her win to ­offer ongoing support. It is always up to the winners as to ­whether they want to take up that support. We will continue to support Jane in any way we can if that is what ­decides she wants.”

Later that year, she said she was hours away from “fighting for life” with suspected sepsis after a Kim Kardashian-inspired Brazilian butt lift operation went wrong.

She was rushed to hospital after becoming severely unwell a week after undergoing the procedure in Turkey. “It started with a little pain in my leg, a fever and then pins and needles, however, the pain is now severe,” she said in Snapchat clips.

“I called the doctor and he told me to get straight to accident and emergency. As soon as they heard my conditions, they rushed me straight into a side room, they said the four-hour wait could have been deadly. They’re almost certain it’s sepsis, I’m frightened and I’m emotionally drained. I have tried to put on a brave face, but I’m really scared.”

At the time, a source told The Mirror friends and family were worried for her safety.

Ms Park had already forked out more than $84,000 on breast enlargements, dental veneers, liposuction, Botox, lip enhancements and cosmetic filler since winning the jackpot.

“They are worried that she has become addicted to cosmetic surgery because she has been really poorly — but she still says she would have more cosmetic work done,” the person said.
