Excitement is soaring as Australians eagerly await the chance to become the country’s biggest lottery winner, with the Mega Millions lottery in the United States reaching an unprecedented jackpot of AU$2.3 billion.

The staggering sum marks the largest jackpot in the history of Australian lotteries and ranks as the third-largest lottery jackpot worldwide, with only two US Powerball jackpots surpassing it in Division 1 and 2.

Tickets for the USA Mega Lotto are currently available through The Lottery Office, an Australian company specialising in facilitating access to international lotteries.

The draw is set to conclude on Wednesday, at 10am AEST, leaving Australians with a limited window of opportunity to participate.

Jaclyn Wood, the CEO of The Lottery Office, said that if an Australian player were to clinch this remarkable prize, it would establish a new record for lottery winners in the country.

“With our track record of two winners in the past three weeks, we have high hopes of yet another lucky Aussie taking home a prize,” she said.

Previously, the record for the largest jackpot in the world was held by the USA Power Lotto, which reached an astounding AU$2.9 billion last year.

Wood explained that when Australian customers purchase tickets through their platform, The Lottery Office obtains a corresponding ticket for the international draw.

“When our customers win, we pay them the exact amount of the winnings we collect from the overseas lottery ticket,” she said.

“The Lottery Office is 100 per cent Australian owned and operated and we are passionate about enabling Australians to benefit from international lotteries, as these draws are often significantly larger on average than what you will find in a traditional Australian lottery.

“Even second or third division prizes can be huge, especially if the player opts to play with The Lottery Office multiplier option. It can multiply non division one wins 10 times.”
