$40 million Powerball to jackpot again after five weeks of no winners

Powerball is set to jackpot again after no one claimed the $40 million. There were big division two winners though. Here are the winning numbers.

Powerball is set to climb from a staggering $40 million after no one claimed the top prize for a fifth straight week.

Three people however won over $211,000 each in division two.

The lucky numbers were 30, 33, 21, 13, 28, 31, 8 and the Powerball was 15.

Last week $20 million was up for grabs, but no punter was lucky enough to claim it.

The prize is also so huge because it is nearing the end of the financial year.

Earlier this year, after weeks of no wins, the jackpot surged to a staggering $80 million, before it was eventually won by two NSW residents.

No one has won the prize for four weeks in a row.

So far this year, there have been eight Powerball division one winners who have collectively pocketed $239 million.

NSW residents scored six of those eight winning entries.

The last winner who took $40 million in Powerball was a Queenslander who won in October 2020.

That winner was a mother from Taringa who was overcome when she heard the life-changing news.

“I am feeling so breathless,” she told The Lott at the time.

“I think I might faint or throw up.”

The woman said she had a “weird feeling” when she woke up that she was going to win the lottery.

“I made sure I kept my phone on charge and that I would be ready to answer your phone call,” she said.

The draw is happening at 8.30pm.

The Lott’s Anna Hobdell said that it’s not too late to get a ticket for the Thursday night draw.

“One or more players have the chance to claim the title as the ‘last Powerball winner for this financial year’, and take home a slice of this $40 million prize,” she said.
