On Monday, a woman from Wollongong admitted she was in a “fuzzy state” after answering the phone to news she’d become a millionaire.

She took home a division one prize of $1 million in the Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 4030 drawn on Monday, November 30.

An official from The Lott broke the news to the woman who was still in bed and had no idea she’d become an overnight millionaire.

“Wait, can you say that again? Did you really say I’ve won one million dollars?” she laughed.

When asked how she intended to enjoy her million-dollar win, the elated woman said she needed to let the news sink in before she made any plans.

“I don’t even believe this is real, so I can’t even begin to imagine what I will do with it,” she said.

“Of course, I’ll share it with my family,” she said.

“I can’t wait to tell them. I might take them out for lunch this week and break the news then.”

Another winner, a grandmother from Happy Valley in Adelaide, celebrated a $1 million Monday X Lotto win with a cup of tea and toast.

“I might want something a bit stronger later, but right now I just need to sit down and let it sink in,” she said.

Sharing her excitement with an official from The Lott, the happy winner recounted the moment she discovered the life-changing news.

“I’m a little bit confused, to be honest. I just went to the newsagent to buy the paper and scanned my ticket, and they said they couldn’t pay it,” she said.

When asked how she planned to enjoy her million-dollar windfall, the generous grandmother said she was eager to help her family and was looking forward to installing new fences on the house she’s lived in for more than 40 years.

“You’ve got no idea how happy this is going to make my family,” she said.

“Like everyone, we’ve had a bit of a sh*t year, and this will help everyone get back on their feet.”

The grandmother said she had been playing the same numbers for decades and “always thought one day they’d win the big one”.

“I’ve been playing these same numbers for donkey’s years. I reckon 20-odd years I’ve played them every week,” she said.

“My late husband chose those numbers all these years ago. I don’t know why he chose them, but we’ve been playing them ever since.”
