Elon Musk could start swinging the axe to lay off Twitter employees as soon as today just before new stock grants are made, according to a new report.
Elon Musk could start swinging the axe to lay off Twitter employees as soon as Saturday, local time, according to a new report.
The new Twitter owner has ordered company-wide cuts, the New York Times reported citing people with knowledge of the situation.
The paper said the staff cuts would come before Tuesday when employees were scheduled to get stock grants as part of their compensation, the NY Post reported.
Cuts of the 7500-person Twitter workforce have been expected after the billionaire’s takeover of the social media giant.
He fired several top executives on Thursday.
On Friday, several pranksters gathered outside the company’s San Francisco headquarters with cardboard boxes pretending to news organisations that they had been fired.
