Infamous CEO’s brutal tweet after Elon Musk’s shock new baby reveal
A renowned investor has taken a thinly veiled swipe at Tesla CEO Elon Musk after it was revealed he had secretly fathered twins.
A well-known investor has taken a potshot at eccentric Tesla CEO Elon Musk after it was revealed he had secretly fathered twins.
News broke yesterday that the 51-year-old billionaire SpaceX founder welcomed twin babies with Shivon Zilis in November 2021, bringing his total number of known living children to nine with three women.
Ms Zilis, 36, previously worked for Tesla and is currently a top executive at Neuralink Corporation, a neurotech firm that develops implantable brain-machine interfaces, which Musk co-founded in 2016.
But yesterday, renowned investor Michael Burry – who was one of the first investors to predict and profit from the subprime mortgage crisis that occurred between 2007 and 2010, and who was portrayed by Christian Bale in the 2015 flick The Big Short – appeared to take a subtle swipe at Musk’s baby news.
Mr Burry, the founder of Scion Asset Management, has recently been speaking out about the risks facing the economy at the moment, but on Thursday, he pivoted to the US birthrate on Twitter.
“Babies born in the US are at 1950 levels, but that doesn’t mean that bosses should sleep with subordinates to try to remedy the situation,” he tweeted.
“Bigger problem is nuclear families are at 1959 levels, and woke doctrine wants it lower. “More babies in broken families not the way.”

Musk has previously been outspoken when it comes to the birthrate, and has declared it to be a threat to civilisation, despite the fact the current world population is nearing 8 billion.
In response to his latest baby news, he posted on Twitter: “Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birthrate is the biggest danger civilisation faces by far.”

Musk has not yet responded to Mr Burry’s perceived dig.
Musk’s complicated family life
Elon Musk married Canadian author Justine Wilson in January 2000. They had a son, Nevada, in 2002, who tragically died at ten weeks old from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
The couple subsequently had twins – Vivian and Griffin – and triplets named Kai, Saxon and Damian, who are now 16.
Mr Musk and Ms Wilson share custody of the five children. He also has two children with the singer Grimes, with whom he had a relationship from 2018 until recently. The pair’s son X Æ A-12 was born in May 2020 and their daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, was born via surrogate in December 2021.
Last month, legal documents revealed that Musk’s transgender daughter Vivian, who was named Xavier Alexander Musk at birth and who turned 18 in April, wanted to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson, and had filed court documents in order to do so.
The name-change documents, which were filed in Santa Monica in the US on April 18 – just three days after her 18th birthday – also caused a sensation as Vivian declared that: “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”
She also listed female as her preferred gender on the paperwork.
