Uber piggyback rides are the new black

IF YOU’RE looking for a cheaper ride, Collective Noun have a hilarious solution: Uber Back. It’s way more intimate than getting in a stranger’s car.

Giddy up.
Giddy up.

UBER is embroiled in a very serious battle to have its ride-sharing services accepted by Australian authorities but meanwhile there’s another way to get around town.

The boys from Collective Noun have come up with an ingenious add-on to Uber app, detailed in a hilarious parody video posted on YouTube.

Instead of getting picked up by a hire car, taxi or student’s battered Hyundai Excel, jump on a stranger’s back for a piggyback ride to your destination.

It might take a bit longer to get there, but it sure is more intimate.

“Following the popularity of Uber, and the upper class version — Uber Black — we realised there was a hole in the market for a service uni students could afford,” Zach Mander says in the video.

“That’s why we’re launching Uber Back. Using your Uber app, you can now conveniently book someone to give you a piggyback to your next location.

We are redefining what it means to be picked up by an Uber. Uber Back can get you to work, the shops — or, if you want to get out on the track, and you don’t have a horse.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be Uber without driver reviews — although the criteria has been tweaked.

Enjoy the ride.

Then things get even more ridiculous, with the “next level” options of Uber Back Black — or a combination of all of the above.

“Want that extra level of comfort? Try Uber Back Black — all the benefits of Uber Back, just slightly elevated,” Mander says.

Silver service.

“If you’re really looking to go next level, why not ride an Uber Back Black, in the back of an Uber Black? This is going to change the way young people travel. Uber — we’ve got your back.”

We’re not sure if rides with Uber Back or Uber Back Black are covered by insurance, but at least piggyback rides aren’t likely to put cabbies out of business.

The Collective Noun sketch comedy video team is made up of Sam Borgert, Zach Mander, Dom Fay and Michael Parente, who post new videos every Monday and Wednesday on their YouTube channel.
