Macca’s is adding a new burger to its menu that’s an ode to an Aussie pub favourite. It will be available across the nation from Wednesday.
Macca’s is bringing Aussie customers a new menu item that’s a twist on what is arguably Australia’s national pub dish.
The burger chain will be releasing the new Chicken Schnitzel Burger across all its restaurants nationwide from Wednesday but will only be available for four weeks.

The chicken schnitty comes after McDonald’s recently launched an $8.80 Chicken Parmi Burger and sparked a huge debate on whether parmigiana is pronounced parmi or parma.
“Our new chicken menu has been a huge hit, with people loving the new burgers, McPieces and chicken salt shaker fries. Now we’re giving our customers another delicious chicken burger to try,” McDonald’s Australia marketing director Jo Feeney told news.com.au.
McDonald’s caused much excitement among fans when it announced a limited edition Donut Ball McFlurry to the Uber Eats menu.

MCPLANT BURGER
Meanwhile, in the US, McDonald’s has announced it will begin testing a new plant-based burger next year called “McPlant” in the US.
The fast-food chain in Australia said it doesn’t have any immediate plans for the McPlant burger to be launched in Australia.

McDonald’s Australia still serves the vegetable-based McVeggie burger for customers looking for a meat-alternative option.
The world’s biggest restaurant chain says the new offering in the US “is a delicious burger that will be the first menu option in a plant-based platform”.
The McPlant line also may eventually include plant-based chicken and breakfast sandwiches, he added.

It also expects to launch a new Crispy Chicken Sandwich in the US early next year, in part because sales of its Chicken McNuggets and McChicken Sandwich are exceeding sales of hamburgers.
But McDonald’s is playing catch-up with key rivals when it comes to plant-based meat after Burger King launched an Impossible Whopper last year.
