NAB resolves outage after users react to online banking and app issues
A major bank has resolved an outage after customers flooded social media with frustration when they couldn’t access accounts.
Thousands of Australians were plagued with online banking and transaction issues for hours on Monday as NAB’s app and internet banking faced issues.
Users began reporting issues about 1pm on Monday, with any customers trying to use the app met with a message saying “something didn’t work”.
“We couldn’t show your accounts. Refresh the screen to reload it,” the message says.
The bank took to X to say the app and internet banking services were “experiencing issues”.
“We’re aware of an issue currently impacting some of our services including internet banking, mobile and desktop,” NAB wrote on X.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this is causing. Our teams are working to resolve this ASAP. We will keep you updated.”
On the NAB banking, customers are advised they can “still use telephone banking” for any urgent queries.
Thousands of people have reported they are experiencing issues, according to Down Detector.
Many have taken to social media saying they have been affected by the outage.
“Thanks NAB, now I can’t transfer money to pay for my $600 Woolworths groceries,” one user wrote.
“I’ll just take them, you can work it out on my behalf.”
Another said the bank was “useless”.
“It’s becoming a common occurrence,” another user wrote.
Another wrote: “Switch to cash”.
