NAB mobile app and online banking outage affects thousands of Australians
A major bank was briefly plagued by an outage, with customers flooding social media with frustration before it was resolved.
Thousands of Australians were plagued with online banking and transaction issues by one of the country’s big four banks.
NAB customers were left frustrated on Thursday afternoon after an outage left them struggling to access internet and mobile banking services for up to two hours.
Users began reporting issues about 4.30pm on Thursday.
Customers took to social media to complain about the “really slow” logging in process.
Others said they were “immediately” kicked off the app when they did manage to log in, while some said they had problems loading bank balances.
User error website Downdetector reported more than 1800 user reports from 4.30pm Thursday.
A spokesperson from NAB has confirmed the outage is issuing its mobile app and desktop banking.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this is causing our customers. Our tech team is currently investigating and working to fix this as soon as possible,” the spokesperson said.
“We are continuing to keep our customers updated.”
The outage was fixed shortly before 7pm.
