Tom Hiddleston’s painfully awkward Taylor Swift interview

TOM Hiddleston was surprised by a Channel 9 reporter firing questions about girlfriend Taylor Swift — and the results were excruciating.

TOM Hiddleston and girlfriend Taylor Swift are currently holed up in a Gold Coast penthouse, with reporters from across the country staked outside their Queensland residence hoping to land a big celebrity scoop.

If this interview is any indication, it won’t come easily.

Hiddleston, in town to film the latest instalment in the Thor film franchise, was confronted by Channel 9 reporter Hayley Webb while heading out of his Broadbeach penthouse accommodations for a morning jog.

The ensuing 30 second “interview” is just about the most awkward chat you’ll watch this year, as Hiddleston looked like he’d rather burst into flames than answer questions about his very famous new girlfriend.

“How’s Taylor enjoying the beautiful Gold Coast?” Webb asked. Hiddleston’s uncomfortable response:

“Uh-heh-heh-heh-heh ... umm ... I, eh ... I, I, I’m not going to answer that, if that’s alright.”

Undeterred, Webb continued: “And what are you and your girlfriend looking forward to doing on the Gold Coast?”

“I don’t know. Um. It’s just good to be back,” he squirmed.

The pair jetted into Australia late last week to a welcome from Seven and Nine’s morning shows more befitting a royal visit. Since then, they’ve been spotted just once in public together, enjoying a romantic dinner date over the weekend.

The couple’s very public love affair has garnered worldwide attention in recent weeks, coming hot on the heels of Swift’s split with her former beau of 18 months, Scottish music producer Calvin Harris. Swift herself has stoked the public interest in her new relationship, giving Hiddleston centre stage in her annual 4th of July celebrations.
