Sunrise and Today have zero chill about Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston

TAY-TAY and Tom’s appearance at Sydney Airport today was bigger than The Beatles, if you believe the morning shows.

Tay Tay lands in Sydney

OK Australia, we’re being visited by a couple of loved-up A-listers — time to play it cool.

We’re looking at you, Sunrise and Today.

Seven and Nine’s respective morning shows both reported on Taylor Swift and her latest boyfriend Tom Hiddleston touching down at Sydney Airport today in breathless Beatlemania mode.

On Nine, we were treated to a live feed of the pair’s Qantas plane flying in to Sydney airport, as the hosts remarked about how amazing it was that Swift and Hiddleston were on a commercial flight.

Come on guys, they’re at the pointy end of the plane, not a cargo hold. How exactly did they expect Swift to arrive? Crashing to earth in a doomed blimp, Hindenburg style?

Spare a thought for Nine’s reporter on the scene Jess Millward, who had to repeatedly use the phrase ‘Tay-Tay’ during her live crosses.

Over on Seven, Sunrise’s cameraman managed to grab a few precious seconds of the definitely real couple walking through an airport hallway — which they then played on repeat approximately 327 times in a row.

Sunrise reporter on the scene Shaun White was left to vamp over the shaky footage of two very famous people emerging from a 15-hour flight, announcing that “they look very happy, those two. They look pretty much in love, actually. We’ve got a bit of a match made in heaven here. It was about a two-metre walk, to be honest. It all happened so fast, it was like a Love Story, one of her songs.”

CRIIIIIINGE.

Over on social media, the tone was just as hysterical — Today treated Taylor to a three-exclamation mark welcome, and seemed perilously close to posting their own hand-drawn Hiddelswift fan art.

The couple’s stay at Sydney Airport was brief, as they soon got on a connecting flight to the Gold Coast, where they’ll be based for their Australian visit. No, not because Taylor got a Three Park Superpass for Christmas — Hiddleston is filming the latest Thor film with Chris Hemsworth. We can only assume Swifty will be holed up in her hotel room, making more ‘I HEART T.S.’ tees for him to wear to set each day.
