Sydney Sweeney refuses to let the critics have the last say.

The Euphoria star poked fun at her and Glen Powell’s affair rumours during her Saturday Night Live opening monologue while addressing “some stuff” she’s seen about herself online.

“The craziest rumour I’ve seen is that while I was filming Anyone But You, I was having an affair with my co-star Glen Powell,” she said while laughing.

“That’s obviously not true. Me and my fiance [Jonathan Davino] produced the movie together and he was there the entire shoot.

“And I just want to let everyone know that he’s the man of my dreams and we’re still together and stronger than ever. He even came here tonight to support me.”

Looking at the camera crew, Sweeney, 26, continued, “Can we cut to him?”

The camera then cut to Powell, 35, who was sitting among audience members and had a stunned look on his face when the camera panned to him.

Sweeney and Powell later paired up for another segment, which saw the White Lotus star on a dinner date with her boyfriend.

“I cheated on you with my boss and I think we should break up,” the White Lotus star told her partner.

Powell then appeared at the couple’s table, saying, “Hey babycakes, want to get out here?”

Cheering erupted from the crowd as the duo left together.

The Top Gun: Maverick actor and Sweeney’s friendship came under question as fans noticed their undeniable chemistry while filming their rom-com, which was shot in Sydney, Australia early last year.

Affair rumours between the co-stars heightened when Powell called it quits with his now ex-girlfriend Gigi Paris in April 2023, leading to her unfollowing both him and Sweeney on social media.

Around the same time, Davino, 38, was also photographed leaving Sweeney’s Los Angeles home with their dog and luggage in tow.

However, the Madame Web star and Powell continued to shut down the rumblings of their alleged romance while promoting their highly-anticipated film.

Addressing the rumours in August 2023, the actress told Variety, “It’s a rom-com. That’s what people want! Glen and I don’t really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker.”

Sweeney furthered that she and Powell have even leaned into the narrative to create more of a frenzy around their film.

“They want it,” she continued. “It’s fun to give it to ’em.”

As for Powell, he seems unbothered by allegations as hasn’t shied away from gushing over the blonde beauty, claiming she “is the easiest person to have chemistry with.”

“We make each other laugh. She’s awesome, obviously one of the most talented actresses we have,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

“This movie has felt like a rom-com in itself because Sydney is very easy to pretend fall in love with.”
