AFTER gaining fans from his time in the jungle, Joel Creasey’s new TV show sees him joking about his simliarities to another leggy blonde who can’t keep a man.

THE LAST WORD with COMEDIAN JOEL CREASEY

“I AM shaking my moneymaker all around at the moment, touring, writing and doing some stuff like these Just for Laughs specials.

I also want to go back to the jungle to make sure that new lot of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here people go through the torture we went through.

I’m writing a new show, and of course some of that material will be about my recent break-up (Creasey recently split with his American boyfriend of two years, Jeffery Self). It’s therapy, you have to use it. It’s like therapy that people pay me for.

If you are going to break up with me then you are not going to escape having that out on stage.

I am basically the Taylor Swift of comedy — we are both leggy blondes who can’t keep a man, and then we write about it.

Unfortunately I can’t sing, but I’ll do the stand-up version. I love Taylor — she’s very cool — it’s the greatest compliment you could pay me to say I’m like her.

The Just for Laughs shows saw me go to the Montreal Comedy Festival. All I wanted to know was ‘where does Celine Dion live?’ – which is kind of like someone coming to Australian and asking ‘where is Nicole Kidman’s house?’

The latest special is a ‘best-ofs’ of the last couple of years over there. This one features John Cleese, Steve Martin, Trevor Noah, Dame Edna Everage, and Adam Hills.

I do love Steve Martin, but Joan Rivers is my all-time favourite. I adored Robin Williams too.

Kitty Flanagan as well — she is so up there for me — and I get to work with her here.

Australian comedy is a little bit insular, but it’s nice overseas we watch each other perform. Everyone completely holds their own on that international stage.

I live-hosted the Melbourne Comedy Gala and it can be harder being the host.

For one thing, you have to stay until the end, and my attention span is shocking, so it is tricky.

The pace and the energy of the show is in your hands. There’s so much going on, there’s autocue, keeping the show to time, a producer in your ear and you still have to be funny.

A lot of people discovered me in the jungle (in I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here).

The jungle was harder because in stand-up it’s just me. I have the microphone, I call the shots.

In the jungle, there were 13 other people and you have no control. That and the fact you’re not eating makes it pretty tricky.

We were so starving our smell had enhanced so much that we could smell coffee like 100 metres away — we were like bloodhounds.

“Chrissie Swan and I offered $4000 one day for one jar of Moccona (coffee) — we were going to donate it to charity for just one jar — and we didn’t get it.
