The White Lotus renewed for season 2, HBO confirms
Mike White’s addictive new series The White Lotus has officially been renewed for a second season, as the famed producer revealed what fans can expect.
The White Lotus has officially been given the green light for a second season.
HBO confirmed the news today, revealing Mike White is set to jump on-board yet again to write, produce and direct season 2 of the satire series.
The debut season premiered five weeks ago and has been embraced by both fans and critics, with the finale airing Monday on Foxtel.
The limited series follows a group of wealthy white Americans during their chaotic stay at the fictional The White Lotus resort in Hawaii, fronted by a phenomenal cast including Jennifer Coolidge (who must win an Emmy), Connie Britton, Steve Zahn and Australia’s own Murray Bartlett.
But the second outing is poised to profile an entirely new cohort of guests at The White Lotus resort in a different destination, though White didn’t rule out potential for character crossover.

“I don’t think you can credibly have [all the Season 1 guests] on the same vacation again. But maybe it could be a Marvel universe type thing, where some of them would come back,” White told TVLine.
“We only made one-year deals with the actors, so we’d have to find out who is even available.”
HBO EVP Programming Francesca Orsi said the production company looked forward to fans finding out where White would take the story next.

“Mike has once again delivered a quintessential HBO show, and it’s the talk of the town,” Orsi said in a statement.
“We were thrilled to hear where he wanted to go next, after closing this epic chapter in Hawaii, and can’t wait to keep following him wherever he takes us.”
The White Lotus finale airs Monday on Foxtel at 11am
