The much buzzed about series The White Lotus is set to premiere in hours, featuring a stellar cast including Connie Britton and Jennifer Coolidge.

HBO’s new satire comedy The White Lotus finally drops today after months of anticipation. 

Shortly after the order announcement last year, a star-studded cast was attached to the project including Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Alexandra Daddario, Sydney Sweeney and Australia’s very own Murray Bartlett in the lead role.

The six-episode limited series began filming in Maui, Hawaii late last year, with brief detail that the story would be set at an exclusive tropical resort frequented by wealthy guests.

And now it's finally set to premiere today.

The White Lotus will premiere locally today, Monday July 12 on Foxtel.

It will air express from the US at 11am. New episodes will air Monday each week.

What is The White Lotus about?

The trailer introduces viewers to a host of rich families, couples and individuals during their one week stay at a luxury Hawaiian resort.

Bartlett, who plays resort manager Armond, opens the trailer, and is seen telling his employees that their rich clientele all want to be the “chosen baby child of the hotel”, adding, “And we are their mummies”.

Sounds a tad crazy, but you don’t need to take my summarisation. Coolidge’s character, the “unstable, wealthy” Tanya McQuoid, is later heard declaring, “There’s a lot of rich, white, f**ked up people (here)”.

According to an official synopsis, The White Lotus “follows the vacations of various hotel guests over the span of a week as they relax and rejuvenate in paradise. But with each passing day, a darker complexity emerges in these picture-perfect travellers, the hotel’s cheerful employees and the idyllic locale itself.”

Enlightened creator Mike White created, executive produced, wrote and directed The White Lotus.

It will debut on Foxtel in Australia express from the US on Monday, July 12 at 11.00am AEST, with episodes to air weekly.
