Everyone’s favourite dysfunctional, unreasonably rich family is finally back, with a new season of Succession set to air on Monday.

HBO dropped the official trailer last month teasing an all-out Roy family war, which you can watch in all its dramatic glory in the video above.

The first episode of Succession’s third season will premiere on October 18 at 12pm AEST express from the US on Foxtel, and will be available to stream On Demand immediately afterwards.

Two years after the explosive season 2 finale aired – and a handful of Covid-19 delays in-between – the multi-award winning series returns with nine new episodes, which will air weekly on Mondays.

Season 3 picks up after Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong), seemingly intent on stepping down from Waystar Royco, betrays his CEO father Logan Roy (Brian Cox) at a press conference, publicly accusing him of being the man responsible for the media company’s wrongdoings.

In an official synopsis for the show, Logan is now “scrambling to secure familial, political and financial alliances, [and] tensions rise as a bitter corporate battle threatens to turn into a family civil war”.

The first teaser trailer, released in July, opens with Kendall amping himself up in a bathroom mirror.

“You are Kendall Roy,” the teaser begins as the iconic orchestral score booms in the background. “You are Kendall f***ing Roy.”

It then shows him attempting to garner support from his siblings, Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Shiv (Sarah Snook).

“He’s our dad, but he was going to send me to jail,” Kendall says. “He’d do the same to all of us.”

An equally – albeit less intense – power-hungry Shiv pushes: “If I back you against Dad, you would need to let me take over.”

It’s Logan who gets the last word in the 60-second trailer, declaring: “I’m gonna grind his f***ing balls to make my bread.”

We. Honestly. Can’t. Wait.

A host of exciting new cast members are set to join the ranks for the new season, including Adrien Brody, Alexander Skarsgard, Sanaa Lathan, Linda Emond and Jihae.

Some familiar faces have also been bumped up to series regulars this season including Willa Ferreyra (Justine Lupe), shady chief financial officer Karl Muller (David Rasche) and Waystar Royco’s senior comms exec, Fisher Stevens (Hugo Baker).
