Stan drops Saved By The Bell reboot teaser trailer

Stan has dropped a teaser for its upcoming Saved By The Bell series, and some old favourites have returned.

All the nostalgia feels have come flooding back with the latest look at the upcoming Saved By The Bell reboot.

Stan released a 30-second teaser ahead of the show’s premier in November, which opens with Mario Lopez reprising his role as high school jock A.C Slater, and his love interest of yesteryear Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, who returns as Jessie Spano.

“Do you ever wish you could go back?” Spano asks Slater. “Sure do,” he says with his iconic grin.

The two originals have signed on to Stan’s reimagined series built around the iconic 1989 show, which ran for four years and followed the high school adventures of A.C, Jessie, Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Thiessen), Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies), and Screech Powers (Dustin Diamond).

A love story for the ages.

Gosselaar also returns to reprise his central role as Zack for a limited three episodes, and is now – in a remarkable success story – the governor of California. But in true Zack fashion he lands himself into strife for closing too many low-income high schools and offering to funnel the embattled students to other better-performing schools — which includes his former playground of Bayside High.

The influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids a necessary dose of reality.

The new look cast features Belmont Cameli, Dexter Darden, Mitchell Hoog, Alycia Pascual-Peña, Josie Totah and Haskiri Velazquez as the new generation of class mates at Bayside High School.

It is understood Thiessen, Diamond and Voorhies won’t be reprising their roles.

Diamond, who played the group’s token nerd friend, fell out with his co-stars after writing a controversial tell-all book called Behind the Bell in 2009.

Some of the claims in the book were that Thiessen was seeing both Lopez and Gosselaar at the same time and that the cast would often smoke marijuana during filming.
