Mark-Paul Gosselaar
Mark-Paul Gosselaar landed his breakout role as Zack Morris in 1989. He also led the gang into their next chapter: Saved by the Bell: The College Years.
When he said farewell to his character in 1994, he starred in NYPD Blue, Commander in Chief, and Mixed-ish.
When NBC announced the reboot in 2020, Gosselaar signed on to reprise his role as Zack Morris, all grown up.
Tiffani Thiessen
At the young age of eight, Thiessen started her modelling and acting career. Landing the role of Kelly Kapowski on the popular sitcom, she was catapulted into worldwide fame. She was on the show the whole way through, including Saved by the Bell: The College Years.
Since then, she has starred in Beverly Hills, 90210 and in 1998 she was in the film Hollywood Ending. Eventually, she returned to television in the shows Fastlane and White Collar. Thiessen will reprise her role in the reboot, as a teacher.
Mario Lopez
Mario Lopez was a household name before, during and after Saved By The Bell. Since his days as A.C. Slater, he has been an actor in TV, film and Broadway. He is currently the host of Extra and Access Hollywood.
Elizabeth Berkley
Elizabeth Berkley was initially a dancer, landing the role of Jessie Spano on the hit sitcom after starring in the film Frog in 1988. The actress appeared in the show in its fourth and final season. She didn’t go on to reprise her role in the spin-off.
Berkley instead went on to star in Showgirls, The First Wives Club and has appeared in both CSI: Miami and The L Word. She has also recently published a New York Times best-selling book Ask Elizabeth.
Lark Voorhies
Lark’s first major acting role was Saved By The Bell as Lisa Marie Turtle. The actress starred on the show up until the end of the series, and went on to star on Days of Our Lives, The Bold and the Beautiful, and In the House.
Dustin Diamond
Dustin Diamon played Zack Morris’s sidekick, Screech Powers. Diamond starred in the show’s predecessor Good Morning, Miss Bliss, and also appeared in the show’s spin-offs.
Since the show ended, Diamond was in his fair share of scandals. In 2006, he directed and released his own sex tape which featured himself and two other women.
Later, he claimed that he used a body double. A few years later, Diamond released a book Behind the Bell, where he called out some interesting times on set, which upset a lot of his former castmates. The book included allegations that they mistreated him and had since been estranged from him.
In 2014, Diamond was arrested for stabbing a man in a bar fight, and was sent to jail for three months.
Dennis Haskins
Dennis Haskins played the beloved principal on the sitcom. After the show, Haskins worked as a music manager and talent agent. Later he starred in the TV shows The Twilight Zone and Magnum P.I. The actor also returned to reprise his role in the spin-off for an emotional appearance. He also reprised his role during a skit on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in 2015.
Ed Alonzo
Alonzo starred in the first season of the show and was the owner of their hangout, The Max. He was a series regular in the first season, but was written out come season two. “It became apparent that we were appealing to the teens,” creator Peter Engel told Today. “We didn’t need that type.” Alonzo later starred in shows like Full House and Murphy Brown, most recently appearing on Modern Family.
Leanna Creel
The actress joined the show in its final season. She was the newcomer, Tori Scott. Later, she played a love interest for main character Zack Morris. As well as pursuing her career in acting, she worked as a photographer, film producer and director, now owning Creel Studios.
Leah Remini
Leah entered the show when they had a stint at Malibu Sands Beach Club in season 3. Leah was cast as a recurring guest who played Zack’s girlfriend. After the sitcom, she landed a role on The King of Queens alongside Kevin James. It was a major success and ran from 1998-2007.
Remini was part of the Church of Scientology, famously leaving in 2013. Since then, she has been a loud critic against the religion, appearing in the award-winning docu-series, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. Most recently, she starred in The Second Act alongside Jennifer Lopez.
Tori Spelling
Before her stint on Beverly Hills, 90210, Spelling made a name for herself on Saved By The Bell as Violet – Screech’s love interest. She boomed into fame when she stared as Donna Martin in 90210, and has since appeared in many television shows and movies. In 2007, Spelling landed her own show with her husband Dean McDermott, called Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood.She has written six books.
Soleil Moon Frye
Frye was already known for her role as Penelope on Punky Brewster, and guest starred on the show in one episode in season 4. She played Robin, a girlfriend of Screech. She later starred in other teen shows and movies, including S abrina the Teenage Witch in 2000. She is now working on rebooting her famous character on Punky Brewster.
