Game Of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke blasts ‘anti-feminists’ for shaming her sex scenes

EMILIA Clarke was so happy about this racy scene, she actually thanked the Game of Thrones creators afterwards. Can’t say we blame her.

WITH its penultimate season about to kick off, Game of Thrones fans are bracing themselves for life without the massively popular prestige drama.

The show’s cast are also preparing for the impending conclusion, except they’re also worried about making sure the finale pays off eight seasons worth of intrigue and drama.

While speaking with Elle, Thrones star Emilia Clarke said she spends a lot of “sleepless nights” worrying about living up to fan expectations. “Oh, you’re gonna mess it up. It’s the last season, and it’s going to go wrong,” says Clarke, who plays the intimidating dragon queen Daenerys Targaryen. “My mates are like, ‘It’s you — you [and Daenerys] are one and the same now. You need to trust your instincts!’ And I’m like, ‘No, I’ve got to do more research!’ The higher everyone places the mantle, the bigger the fall. That sounds really awful, but it’s true! I don’t want to disappoint anyone.”

Clarke is feeling the pressure as Khaleesi.

Clarke is much more forceful when it comes to talking about Game of Thrones’ nude scenes and the flak she’s taken for baring it all during the course of the series. Clarke specifically talked about her season 4 sex scene with Michiel Huisman’s Daario Naharis, a scene that’s become infamous among fans for it’s depiction of a commanding Daenerys’ sexual prowess.

“It’s brilliant,” said Clarke, looking back on the 2014 scene. “I actually went up to [GoT co-creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss] and thanked them. I was like, ‘That’s a scene I’ve been waiting for!’ Because I get a lot of crap for having done nudes scenes and sex scenes. That, in itself, is so anti-feminist. Women hating on other women is just the problem. That’s upsetting. So it’s kind of wonderful to have a scene where I was like, ‘There you go!’”
