Emma Stone’s huge transformation in new comedy Fantasmas
A Hollywood star and recent Oscar-winner has undergone an epic makeover for an upcoming new comedy series.
Emma Stone has undergone another epic makeover, this time for the upcoming HBO comedy series Fantasmas.
The Hollywood star looked very different recently in her Oscar-winning turn as Victorian creature Bella Baxter in the twisted fairytale film Poor Things.
And now she’s done it again in Fantasmas, for which she is also an executive producer alongside her husband, Dave McCary.
In the first-look trailer released on Monday, Stone, 35, appears to play an exaggerated version of a Real Housewives star with her bouffant hairstyle, sparkly dress and loud jewellery.
She even comes with a confessional-esque backdrop similar to that featured on the Bravo franchise.
Stream Fantasmas from June 8 on BINGE, available on Hubbl.
Fantasmas, which streams locally on BINGE from June 8, is the brainchild of former Saturday Night Live writer and comedian Julio Torres.
The six-episode series is set in an alternative version of New York and follows Torres playing a fictionalised version of himself as he embarks on a quest to find his lost earring in the shape of an oyster.
“A kaleidoscope of colour and surrealism, Fantasmas weaves together stories of people looking for meaning, purpose and connection in an increasingly isolating world,” reads the synopsis.
In his travels, Torres encounters offbeat characters played by a dozen recurring guest stars such as Stone, Julia Fox, Steve Buscemi and Dylan O’Brien.
O’Brien, who is best known for his roles in Teen Wolf and The Maze Runner franchise, even appears in one a scene featured in the trailer wearing nothing but racy red lingerie.
“One of the best things I heard was someone on set referred to it as a group art project, which I take as the highest compliment,” Torres told Entertainment Weekly last month.
“Everyone put so much of themselves into it.”
Fantasmas premieres Saturday, June 8 on BINGE, available on Hubbl, and Sunday June 9 at 8.30pm on FOX8, and available On Demand.
