Disney is holdings its first ever Disney+ Day on Friday, to celebrate two years of its streaming service.

The idea is to reward members and fans with special deals. Some of those offers, such as member-only perks at Disney Parks, are not super accessible to Australians, but there is a still plenty of action locally.

The primary deal is a special sign-up offer to new and returning streaming subscribers – a limited time offer of $1.99 for the first month of Disney+. That’s valid now through to Monday, November 15.

There’s also a livestream event starting on Saturday, November 12 at 1am AEDT (which is technically no longer Disney+ Day in Australia but you know, timezones) which will feature announcements, new trailers and other sneak peeks of upcoming Disney+ titles.

While there’s no confirmation what will be announced, fans are optimistic it could feature Hawkeye and The Book of Boba Fett videos.

The main game on Disney+ Day will be the new movies, TV shows and shorts that drop on streaming this Friday.

Shang-Chi is coming to streaming only two months after its cinema release.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: Marvel’s new martial arts epic is the story of Shang-Chi, a young man who ran away from his crime lord father as a teen. Now, his father’s goons have found him, and he must confront his family’s legacy. It stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Tony Leung and Michelle Yeoh.

Jungle Cruise: Set during World War I, a female botanist and her less adventurous brother hire a river boat captain in the search for a mystical flower with healing properties while competing against a rival expedition and staying ahead of a centuries-old curse. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt and Jack Whitehall.

Dopesick: A drama released under Disney+’s Star banner, it unravels the story behind the opioid epidemic in the US, and the Big Pharma family which told everyone OxyContin wasn’t addictive, a lie that would destroy communities. It stars Michael Keaton, Peter Sarsgaard and Kaitlyn Dever.

Home Sweet Home Alone: The classic Christmas movie is remade (sort of …) with a new cast including Jojo Rabbit’s Archie Yates as a mischievous boy who’s accidentally left behind by his family and has to fend-off two would-be intruders. It also stars Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney and Aisling Bea.

Olaf Presents: A series of shorts featuring Olaf, the snowman from Frozen, recreating iconic moments in Disney’s catalogue, including Tangled, The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. Josh Gad returns in a voice role.

Ciao Alberto: This spin-off short follows Luca’s Alberto as he adjusts to life in Portorosso, aspiring to be a great fisherman and pasta chef. Shenanigans ensue. Jack Dylan Grazer reprises his voice role.

The Simpsons in Plusaversary: Since inheriting the rights to The Simpsons in the Fox merger, Disney has wielded Springfield’s favourite family in cross-promotional shorts, and this one features Homer holding a Disney+ Day party where his friends, such as Goofy, pop in.

There will also be a behind-the-scenes making of special for the recently released Billie Eilish concert experience, a new episode of Marvel Assembled focused on Shang-Chi, a new episode of Marvel Legends centred on Hawkeye, the Amy Adams musical Enchanted, a new season of The World According to Jeff Goldblum and Argentinian comedy Entrelazados.
