Warning, spoilers – and explicit images – ahead for the first four episodes of Disclaimer.

Apple TV+ has just quite possibly aired its most graphic sex scenes to date in its hot new limited series starring Aussie actresses Cate Blanchett and Leila George.

The sexy thriller titled Disclaimer premiered on the streamer on October 11 with two episodes dropping it the first week and another two in the second.

And if you’ve already tuned in, you’ll know that the sex scenes in Episodes 3 and 4 are as raunchy as they come.

So graphic are the scenes that at the start of each episode there is a “sexual content” trigger warning along with a dropdown box asking if you are 18 years old.

The R-rated drama – based on a best-selling book of the same name – is the ultimate revenge story that follows journalist Catherine Ravenscroft (played by Blanchett) whose sordid secrets resurface 20 years later to reveal she cheated with college student Jonathan Brigstocke (Louis Partridge), who later dies trying to save her son.

Catherine’s life unravels when the boy’s father Stephen (Kevin Kline) writes a book that details the way she seduced then killed Jonathan while on holiday away from her husband, Robert (Sacha Baron Cohen).

The seven-part series, directed by four-time Oscar-winner Alfonso Cuarón, is told in a nonlinear fashion with flashback scenes playing out for viewers.

Leila George, who is the ex-wife of Sean Penn, plays a young Catherine who lures and seduces the 19-year-old boy while on his gap year in Italy.

As you can imagine, the seduction scenes are next-level. In one restaurant scene, Catherine persuades Jonathan to share his sex fantasy with her over the dinner table.

He confesses his childhood crush has always been Kylie Minogue and Catherine asks him what he would do if he was alone with the Aussie pop star.

After a few suggestive softcore stares, the sexual tension is palpable and she eventually invites him up to her room where she tells him how to explore her body.

Another scene sees the pair at the beach where they pretend to be strangers. They can’t take their eyes off each other and Jonathan begins to take photos from afar of Catherine in her red bikini.

She doesn’t object, and even poses suggestively for him, despite saying they can’t be seen interacting with one another.

Soon they both disappear into one of the beach cabanas where they have oral sex.

The multiple sex scenes are so explicit, even viewers were left shocked.

“I was really shocked by that. ‘Strong Sex Scenes’ isn’t enough of a disclaimer!” one tweeted.

“Just watched the first 4 episodes os disclaimer… sex scenes are a lil bit too much…. Like we get it they're having sex,” another echoed.

“I’m sorry but Disclaimer on Apple TV is actually so wild,” another commented.

“Just clicked play on disclaimer and why is it already starting with a sex scene,” one agreed.

But some viewers were loving the raunch factor.

“Disclaimer on Apple has hot Kylie-adjacent sex scenes,” one praised, while another commented, “A star cast, a brilliant director and a story about love, marriage, relationship, lapse of judgement, betrayal, tragic loss (and very well shot explicit sex scenes).”

In an interview with Vogue, George said filming the scenes weren’t a bother, but she did make sure her co-star Partridge was comfortable on-set.

“I was 30 and Louis was 19,” said George, now 32. “I very much wanted to make sure that he was comfortable, in a way that I haven’t felt before.”

The Australian-born actress felt that the intimate scenes were not gratuitous and were vital to the storyline. Besides, she grew up liberally with her actress mother Greta Scacchi and actor father Vincent D’Onofrio, who is best known for starring in Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

“My mum took me to a lot of nude beaches growing up,” George shared with Vogue, who added that the sex scenes were “not sexual”.

“You are more likely to laugh than, you know, accidentally get turned on. I don’t know about other people, but I can’t do that when there’s multiple people in the room and a camera on me.”
