Jackie ‘O’ Henderson called out by KIIS staffer on-air over estranged friendship
KIIS FM staffer Intern Pete has called out Jackie ‘O’ Henderson live on-air over their estranged friendship, with the radio host’s rebuttal reducing him to tears.
Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s estranged friendship with one of her show’s producers has been exposed in brutal fashion, reducing her colleague to tears on-air.
The KIIS FM co-host was called out during the Kyle and Jackie O Show’s ‘intervention’ segment Tuesday morning, with her longtime friend and colleague Peter Deppeler, aka Intern Pete, putting her on blast live on radio.
Deppeler, 40, began by speaking to his many years of friendship with Henderson, 49, having worked on the show for more than 10 years.
However, he detailed how they had recently grown apart despite his own best efforts to support her, including getting her a new air fryer, which she ultimately gave away, as well as organising her “20 tickets” to a Sydney Swans game, which Deppeler claims he wasn’t invited to.
“What’s your problem b**ch?” Deppeler asked Henderson. “We used to be close friends, and it’s drifted apart a little bit. I feel like I might’ve been used along the way.”
Henderson and co-host Kyle Sandilands began awkwardly giggling, with Deppeler telling them, “I know you might think it’s funny.”
“We used to be in The Good Wife club together, which was a TV show we watched together,” Deppeler continued.
“I was the first person to go live on your Instagram with you, and we agreed we were going to walk the Kokoda Trail together. We used to do things.”
Deppeler continued to issue a laundry list of grievances before Henderson finally jumped in, blaming him for not making an effort after he got into a relationship several years ago. Deppeler split from his long-term boyfriend earlier this year.
“Peter, you and I used to hang out all the time, and then you and [ex-boyfriend] Justin got together in a relationship and you ditched me,” Henderson hit back.
“So every time I asked you about something you said, ‘Oh, I’m going out with Justin’s friends.’ And it all became about Justin.
“I felt like you ditched your friends because you’d got a new partner, and I had no one.
“It just felt like I was constantly getting rejected, and then what happened was, in that time, I gave up and I moved on. I found new friends. And you and Justin split up and now you’re coming running back going ‘what about me?’
“I’ve moved on now, and that’s what happens when you ditch your friends for the new partner.”
Cue a somewhat lengthy silence, by radio standards, before Kyle Sandilands began singing What About Me? while Deppeler broke down in tears.

Deppeler’s devastation over the encounter ultimately saw Henderson come around to the idea of rebuilding their relationship, saying she’d “love to hang” with him again.
“It [the intervention] backfired on me there. I feel terrible,” Deppeler said.
The pair discussed the confrontation on-air again Wednesday, where they appeared to bury the hatchet, with Henderson telling Deppeler he could move in with her if he needed support amid his break-up.
