‘I felt so sick’: Carrie Bickmore’s pregnancy struggle
CARRIE Bickmore has opened up about the severe sickness she suffered in the early stages of her pregnancy, admitting she struggled to even function.
CARRIE Bickmore has revealed she suffered from terrible bouts of all-day morning sickness for weeks and weeks in the early stages of her pregnancy.
On Thursday, the TV host revealed she was expecting her third child in a cute family video shared to Instagram.
Speaking on her radio show Carrie & Tommy on The Hit Network that afternoon, Bickmore described how difficult the first trimester had been.
“Until this week, I felt so sick - 24 hours a day, like I mean so sick,” she to her radio co-host Tommy Little.
“I didn’t even think I had the energy to work out... to even get my head around what was happening.
“[Being] hungry made me feel sick, eating has made me feel sick, being awake has made me feel sick, sleeping has made me feel sick, coffee has made me feel sick, everything has made me feel sick.”
Luckily, the situation has finally improved.
“I’m feeling 50 per cent better, which weirdly feels like completely better.”
During the segment, Bickmore also admitted keeping her bump a secret while hosting The Project had taken some manoeuvring.
“I’ve been wearing lots of jackets and jumpers, but on The Project right, the desk crosses right across my belly and I’ve slowly been lowering my chair a tiny bit,” she said.
Bickmore added that her sneaky move caused some confusion between staff, but no-one suspected the real reason behind it.
“It’s funny because the floor staff keep going to like Waleed or Hamish, ‘can you guys lower your chair? I don’t know what’s happening but you’re so out of whack height wise,’” Bickmore said.
“[I thought] is anyone noticing that I’m going down down down as the weeks go on? I thought soon it will just be my little head above the desk.”
Unlike her other pregnancies, Bickmore doesn’t want to find out the sex of the child before it is born.
“I don’t know, I found out with Ollie, found out with Evie and I’m thinking maybe I just let it go for this one, let it be a surprise,” she said.
Carrie shares three-year-old daughter Evie with partner Chris Walker, while she had 10-year-old son Oliver with husband Greg Lange, who died from brain cancer in 2010.
