Release date revealed for new season of American Horror Story starring Kim Kardashian

Fans of the American Horror Story anthology series are excited to learn the cult classic will return to screens in September.

Season 12 of American Horror Story is almost here, with the show to be released in Australia on September 21.

Streaming platform BINGEannounced the news this morning, excitedly sharing the release date for the highly anticipated new offering American Horror Story: Delicate.

The long-running FX anthology series created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk tells a dark and different tale each year, often making way for entirely different characters.

This season, veteran AHS star Emma Roberts is joined by Cara Delevingne and Kim Kardashian on the cult series that promises to push boundaries like never before.

Unlike previous seasons, American Horror Story: Delicate is based on Danielle Valentine’s new novel Delicate Condition.

The book is described as “the feminist update to Rosemary’s Baby we all needed” and, likewise, the series appears to draw parallels to the 1968 horror film about a young couple trying for a baby who move into an eerie apartment building with equally strange neighbours.

A teaser trailer for the series was released last month telling the story of a woman who becomes convinced a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens. A creepy cover of the nursery rhyme Rock-a-Bye, Baby, adds to the suspense as it plays in the background.

Today, BINGE also shared three new posters featuring Delevingne, Roberts and Kardashian, seemingly confirming the pregnancy storyline with the latter two stars seen with large spiders on their stomachs.

This will be Kardashian’s acting debut – and in a Twitter Q&A with fans in June, she could barely contain her excitement.

“It’s gonna be gooooooodddd!!!! And scary!” she teased. “It’s the most fun!!!! I’m having the best time!!!”

In a statement with The Hollywood Reporter in April, Murphy said they were pumped to have Kardashian on board.

“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” he said.

“Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
