Viewers rage as Real Housewives of Sydney star ditches reunion special
There will be one housewife missing at next week’s Real Housewives of Sydney reunion special.
The Real Housewives of Sydney viewers have been left fuming over news one of the show’s fan favourites won’t be a part of the reunion special, with some calling for the star to be axed.
Joel Creasey will be joined by Caroline Gaultier, Dr Kate Adams, Krissy Marsh, Sally Obermeder, Terry Biviano and Victoria Montano during next week’s special episode where the Housewives relive the drama from the season.
However, one housewife is missing from the line-up.
Nicole O’Neil missed out on filming the special after she was reportedly unavailable on the day of filming due to a family commitment.
Viewers reacted to the news on social media, with some suggesting that O’Neil will likely not return due to missing out on the reunion being considered the “kiss of death” for Housewives.
In other franchises, such as Beverly Hills, housewives who haven’t shown up to reunions have been fired as a result.
“Nicole missing the reunion for a ‘family commitment’ is a flop. Binge needs to confirm the reunion as a standard part of the series and make sure all the staff are there. There’s unfinished business with Terry and Nicole,” tweeted one star.
“Uh oh a no-show … kiss of death for a Real Housewife,” said another upset viewer.
Others questioned what situation could have led to O’Neil’s absence, with one citing a similar case with The Real Housewives of New Jersey, saying: “Maybe Nicole was doing a Jacqueline Laurita had a complete breakdown.”
Another claimed the reality star should be axed for not fulfilling her commitment, adding: “Nicole should get fired for not turning up!”
A Binge spokesperson said Nicole wuld have loved to have attended, but was unfortunately unable to.
“We would have absolutely loved to have Nicole at the Reunion, however due to a family commitment she was not able to attend the only date that worked for the other cast, host, and the production crew to film the episode,” the spokesperson said.
“And whilst we missed her terribly, we respect Nicole’s dedication to her family and children, which audiences have seen so much of throughout the series.”
Ahead of the show airing, reunion host Creasey said: “Join me and these lovely ladies as they each get the chance to have the final word in this dramatic conclusion.”
