The MasterChef judges all share a very wholesome reaction to contestant Brent’s cook
Mel, Jock and Andy asked for high-fives and hugs after contestant Brent pulled something special out of his pocket to go with his fried chicken on MasterChef.
Cooking an epic dish of fried chicken on Wednesday’s MasterChef, contestant Brent was initially nervous bringing it up to the judges.
“This is a really tough cook for me, and I'm just questioning the dish. It just depends if it’s the best fried chicken they have ever eaten,” he says.
But need he say more, because the judges all reacted with excited whoops and cheers when he pulled a few beers out of his pockets for the them to enjoy with his meal.

Of the chicken, Mel said, “I think it really was fantastic ... You have some guts to bring it up here and it’s really paid off.”
Jock then told Brent “smile. Give us a bloody hug.”

The Victorian road-trip continued during the episode, with a conceptual challenge in the heart of Melbourne.
Crossing the Yarra River and gathering on the roof of the Langham Hotel with the spectacular city skyline all around, the judges explained just how special this city is, famed for its historic architecture, cobblestone laneways and street art as well of course for food, coffee and bars – inspiration abounds.
While in 2020 the city’s vibrant food scene was forced to adapt in light of Covid-19, the judges were pleased to report that Melbourne is back in business.
Andy Allen lifted the lid on the Mystery Box for the 13 remaining cooks, revealing a Samsung Galaxy phone and a map of Melbourne CBD.
Tasked with taking a photograph upon which to base today’s dish, the cooks rolled up their sleeves and flexed their creative muscles as they roamed the streets in search of the perfect image, experiencing the unique urban culture that only this city has to offer.
For Brent, he got a great shot of one of Melbourne’s iconic laneways that encapsulates Melbourne’s scene, which really paid off with his fried chicken dish.
