The Masked Singer’s week seven reveal: Burger Gal revealed to be member of iconic music family
We have a Jackson! A member of the world’s most famous musical family was revealed on The Masked Singer. WARNING: Spoilers.
WARNING: Masked Singer spoilers below.
Another big name was revealed on Monday’s episode of The Masked Singer when, after performing Doja Cat’s Say So, ‘Burger Gal’ was revealed to be …
LaToya Jackson! The American singer and TV personality, 67, is best known as sister of two global pop icons, late brother Michael and sister Janet.
The judges’ final guesses for Burger Gal were Mel B’s guess of Latoya (correct!), Fran Drescher, Julia Stiles and Snooki.
Once the Burger Gal mask was off, LaToya let her trademark high-pitched giggle out as she revealed The Masked Singer is her favourite show on TV - and this is her third time competing in a series.
Elsewhere in this week’s episode, the Snow Fox blasted out a strong take on the Aretha Franklin classic Respect, Bouncer sung the Stephen Sanchez hit Until I Found You, Cowgirl crooned Dolly Parton’s Here You Come Again, Grim Reaper sung Toni Braxton’s Breathe Again and Orca performed Cher’s If I Could Turn Back Time.
And the judges got into this week’s ‘Blast from the past’ theme, with Mel B wearing one of her original 90s Spice Girls outfits, and Dave Hughes looking very different from usual in an 80s poodle-perm Bon Jovi wig.
We took some guesses at the start of the season about the identity of all these contestants – so far we’ve gotten some right (and some wrong).
This was the seventh celebrity to be revealed on The Masked Singer this season, with 90s Beverly Hills, 90210 heart throb Brian Austin Green unmasked in week one, and longtime Ten newsreader Sandra Sully revealed in week two.
Week three saw the season’s most moving reveal so far – Summer Warne, daughter of late cricketing legend Shane Warne, who explained that she’d done the show in tribute to her dad, who always encouraged her to pursue her passion for singing.
In week four The Block judge Shaynna Blaze showed off the pipes she’d honed in her earlier singing career, as she was revealed to be the contestant in the ‘Bluebottle’ costume.
In week five, UK Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby revealed she’s got a surprisingly strong singing voice for someone who’s best known for her various stints in reality TV shows, when she was revealed as the celeb underneath the Space Fairy costume.
And last week, the colourful monster ‘Tiny’ was unmasked as million-selling Aussie singer-songwriter Pete Murray.
The Masked Singer continues 7:30pm next Monday on Ten.
