The Bachelorette 2021: The 16 men and women vying for Brooke Blurton’s heart
Meet the men and women hoping to sweep Brooke Blurton off her feet, and find out exactly where you can find them all on Instagram.
Brooke Blurton’s search for love is just one night away.
But before we get stuck into the extravagant dates and crushing rose ceremonies, here are the 16 men and women vying for the 26-year-old’s heart — and making history as contestants on the first season of the Bachelorette of its kind.
Jamie-Lee, 30, NSW
It’s Jamie-Lee’s second shot at love in The Bach universe – having actually met Brooke during the Honey Badger’s 2018 season.
Describing a connection she felt during their time together on the show, Jamie-Lee is keen to see if Brooke feels the same way.
Bec, 30, VIC
Charity officer Bec seems set to cause a bit of a stir in the mansion, describing herself as chaotic, loud and enthusiastic.
“I fully embrace every day and want to live life as happily and lovingly as possible,” she added, explaining that she’s also passionate about mental health support.
Emily, 25, NSW
Animal-obsessed Emily is a vet receptionist who has lots of love and energy to give to the right person.
The 25-year-old is a “social butterfly” but admits she spends a lot of time scrolling on TikTok.
Darvid, 27, QLD
Describing himself as driven and confident, Darvid can be a little blunt which sometimes gets him into trouble.
The landscaper says his family describe him as “a bull in a China shop”, and his perfect date involves “a nice bottle of wine accompanied by Italian food, somewhere warm, with a whole lot of laughs”.
Holly, 27, NSW
Former dance teacher and ball of energy Holly works in marketing but is also an NRL cheerleader.
She describes herself as bubbly, energetic, friendly, athletic and clumsy.
Taje, 23, NSW
The youth worker looking to form a “genuine connection” with the right person.
“I know who I am and what I stand for, which is why I believe I would make a great partner for Brooke,” she added.
Konrad, 31, VIC
A self-described “hopeless romantic”, Konrad says he has a tendency to “fall in love pretty quickly” but is proceeding with caution this time around.
He said his next partner can expect “loyalty, honesty, love, laughs and a few headaches”.
Interesting.
Ryan, 29, NSW
Former AFL player Ryan is passionate about fitness. He describes himself as “family-oriented, supportive, and protective of the ones I love”.
When asked what he can offer his potential partner Ryan said, “Support, honesty, physical affection (physical touch is my love language).”
Carissa, 30, QLD
Carissa works as a registered psychologist with at-risk youth, and already feels like she and Brooke will be a great match.
“I saw Brooke was The Bachelorette and felt really drawn to her. She has many qualities that I am really attracted to,” she said.
Matt, 31, QLD
Pet-lover Matt joked of meeting Brooke: “I may love my dog more than her … but only at first.”
He said his two sisters have taught him how to respect women, and that his ideal date is “a picnic with a cheese platter, wine, music and a sunset”.
Ritu, 25, VIC
Ritu is convinced she and Brooke have a lot in common already.
The filmmaker said: “I think Brooke and I are very similar. Not only are we both POC queer women, we are both based in Melbourne and passionate about mental health and trauma recovery.”
She added that she’s “quite romantic”, but has “maybe invested in the wrong people” in the past.
Kurt, 29, NSW
Sports mentor Kurt is worried Brooke might be turned off by the fact that he’s never had a long-term partner, but the “random, adventurous, inquisitive and shy (at times)” Bachelor is ready to fall in love.
Steve, 29, NSW
Podiatrist Steve says his idea of a perfect date would be “any activity (rock climbing, motorbike ride, hike, arcade, go-karting or minigolf) followed by a picnic at a beach”.
Opening up about his personality type, he said: “Sometimes I’m too carefree and easygoing for my own good.”
Beau, 34, NSW
The photographer describes himself as “happy, funny, fit, cheeky and driven”, and says his ideal date would include “something adventurous and active“ followed by a big meal. He promises to be “a professional #instaboyfie”.
Johann, 27, NSW
Italian-born, German-speaking carpenter Johann says that in a relationship he’s “someone to laugh at and a shoulder to cry on”. His deal-breakers are “someone that lacks the ability to have a deep conversation, is close-minded and not open to new experiences”.
Jess, 30, SA
Software sales executive Jess describes herself as a “down-to-earth drama queen” who isn’t afraid to put herself out there. She’s also an avid cook who doesn’t mind breaking the rules.
The Bachelorette Australia premieres Wednesday night from 7.30pm on Channel 10.
