‘I have proof’: Grant doubles down on claims Ali cheated on him
AFTER Ali Oetjen accused of him of wanting attention, Grant Kemp has doubled down on his claims — and says he has “legal proof” she cheated.
GRANT Kemp has doubled down on claims Ali Oetjen cheated on him after The Bachelorette star accused him of using her to get attention.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any uglier between the former Bachelor in Paradise couple, Kemp phoned into the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday to fire back at Oetjen’s claims over the week that he was an attention seeker.
If you need a refresher (and to be honest this absolute shambles of a breakup is hard to keep track of) — their relationship ended abruptly after filming in Fiji wrapped up, with the US reality TV star later claiming he caught another man “going down” on Oetjen while she was staying with him in Los Angeles.
While Oetjen did not outright deny his allegations, she accused Kemp of making the claims so he had a “reason to keep coming back into the limelight, which is what he wants”.
“He wants to keep on grabbing those headlines. It speaks volumes for who he is really,” Oetjen told Stellar magazine over the weekend.
Firing back at his ex on Tuesday, Kemp claimed he had all the evidence to prove Oetjen had been unfaithful to him.
“I literally have legal proof, I have the text messages,” he told Kyle Sandilands and Jackie Henderson.
“I have all the texts from her the next day begging, frantically begging, to come apologise in person, fully incriminating herself saying, ‘I’m sorry I was this I was that, I was wasted, I would never do that, I would take it back.’
“I literally have texts on texts on texts of me just flashing back at her saying, ‘I never want to see you again.”’
The US Bachelorette star claimed his revelations had left Channel 10 scrambling to protect Oetjen’s reputation.
Following an online backlash about Kemp’s cheating claims, the network was forced to issue a statement denying Oetjen would be replaced as this year’s Bachelorette.
“I knew that the show had a plan B to make her the new Bachelorette if we broke up,” Kemp said.
“I knew for a fact right when we broke up that’s what they were probably going to try and do, and they ran so much blockage on everything I tried to put out about her because they were trying to save her reputation.”
Kemp also disputed claims he had spoken out to make headlines and said he had only wanted to clear his name after multiple false reports about why he and Oetjen split began circulating.
Bachelor in Paradise star Keira Maguire later admitted to making up a rumour that Kemp had tried to pressure Oetjen into having a threesome.
“I wasn’t going to put a story out about it, I wasn’t going to make it a thing. I just kicked her out of my house, she flew home, I wasn’t going to say a thing to anybody about it,” Kemp said.
“And then when her and Keira decided to try and get ahead of it to save her reputation and put that fake story out — which Keira admitted to doing on your radio show — then I was pissed.
“Then I was like I have to save my reputation because now this whole country thinks I’m the asshole when I’m not.”
