‘Cringy’ first look at Ali Oetjen as The Bachelorette

BACHELORETTE fans have been treated to a sparkly, theatrical first-look at Ali Oetjen as this year’s leading lady — and it’s a doozy.

NETWORK Ten has dropped a first look at Australia’s upcoming The Bachelorette, starring Ali Oetjen — and it’s as corny as you’d expect.

The brand new promo features this year’s leading lady in a ruby red ball gown, dripping in diamonds as she shows off her singing and dancing chops in a Marilyn Monroe-inspired number.

The sparkly, theatrical clip opens with host Osher Günsberg telling Oetjen: “You’ve been quite unlucky in love, haven’t you Ali?

“Well, don’t worry — I’m here to help you find your Mr Right.”

The unlucky-in-love reality TV contestant then launches into a rendition of You Can’t Hurry Love surrounded by dancing men in suits holding out personalised heart-shaped signs.

No stranger to heartbreak, this will be Oetjen’s third attempt at finding love on an Aussie dating show. The 32-year-old South Australian first appeared on our screens during the inaugural 2013 season of The Bachelor Australia, where she put everything on the line for Tim Robards but was turned away in the penultimate rose ceremony.

She later took a chance on Australia’s first season of Bachelor in Paradise earlier this year, falling for American Bachie Grant Kemp. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be.

The health and fitness guru was also engaged to Adelaide-based David Waldeck for two years and was pictured wearing a diamond ring a month before filming began on BIP. They are believed to have parted ways sometime in 2017, however it’s unclear why.

Here’s hoping third time’s the charm for Ali Oetjen.

Ten’s season four of The Bachelorette Australia is expected to air later this year.
