The Bachelor: Matt Agnew spills on secret romance with winner
The Bachelor opened up about his “very clandestine” and “challenging” relationship status, revealing it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park.
He might be living it up our TV screens right now dating 18 women but in real life Matt Agnew’s current romantic status is “very challenging”.
When news.com.au asked Matt earlier this week how he was managing his secret relationship with The Bachelor’s winner, the astrophysicist made no secret of how difficult it was to keep things under wraps.
“It’s really hard,” Matt said. “And it’s really hard both from the perspective that it has to be completely top secret, but also from the point of view that you’ve just gone through this really intense, amplified situation with a particular dynamic to the relationship and then at the end you switch to another relationship dynamic which is still not natural.
“Navigating that is really challenging.”

Matt also acknowledged there were probably more tough times for the couple coming up as Bachelor episodes aired.
“Especially now that footage is all coming out, there’s a lot of challenges to navigate and work through as a couple,” he said.
“But it’s something that you take day-by-day, episode-by-episode, and come out the other end stronger then we go in.”
While Matt wouldn’t elaborate on how he was keeping in touch with The Bachelor winner, he said it was all very secretive.

“It’s mostly secret phone calls … it’s very clandestine so that means that it is very challenging,” he said.
“It’s hard not being able to see the person you want to see, it’s intense. Challenging is the most accurate way to describe it.”
Two episodes in and betting agencies have tipped Chelsie McLeod to win, with the chemical engineer sitting on the best odds.
Elly Miles is the next favourite to win, with the country nurse getting the coveted Golden Ticket at the first cocktail party.
The Bachelor continues Wednesday 730pm on Network 10
