The Bachelor 2020: Who are all this year‘s contestants?
Ahead of The Bachelor’s eighth season, it’s time to meet the 23 women vying for Survivorfan favourite Locky Gilbert’s heart.
We’re just hours away from the premiere of The Bachelor’s eighth season, and it’s time to meet the 23 women vying for Survivor fan favourite Locky Gilbert’s heart.
This year’s search for “The One” will no doubt be different to anything we’ve seen before thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, but it hasn’t stopped the West Australian travel tour company CEO from falling “madly in love”.
In a first look at the season at the end of July, the 30-year-old also offered a tantalising hint at a proposal in the finale, saying he’d “love to get down on one knee at the end – I’m the kind of guy that would do it”.
With that in mind, here’s your guide to The Bachelor’s class of 2020.
GEMMA, 28, QLD, @gemmaaa_white
Property manager Gemma said she’s got a “lot to offer”, but also knows her self-worth and “won’t settle until I know I have met my perfect match”.
KRISTINA, 24, WA, @kristinaabramoff
PhD scholar Kristina’s perfect man is “intelligent, active, funny, loyal and can take my sass”.
STEPH, 26, VIC, @stephanieshae
“I’m quite spontaneous, free-spirited and try to remain positive,” special needs teacher Steph said, seen in ads for the premiere bonding with Locky over Mexican food. “I’m also brutally honest and find it hard to lie – I’m terrible at it.”
MARLAINA, 31, VIC, @marzy13
Fundraising co-ordinator Marlaina said she’s tried the online dating scene and dating in real life. But when neither worked, “with a glass of wine one night I thought ‘wine not’? Cringeworthy? Yes. Worth it? Also yes”.
MADDY, 25, TAS, @madelyncarver_
Describing herself as “confident, stubborn, passionate, thoughtful and honest”, Maddy, a teacher, said her deal breakers are “if a guy has cheated in a past relationship, if they are full-time smokers, if they have bad hygiene or don’t have a job”.
JULIETTE, 34, NSW, @julietteherrera_
Juliette, a stylist, hopes to be married to “an incredible kind and fun man” in 10 years time, “with three children, and finishing my dad’s legacy which was to build a home for children to thrive in and achieve their dreams”.
PAIGE, 31, VIC, @paigeyroyal
Paige plans to stop Locky in his tracks by just being herself. As for the future, the model said she can see herself “in a loving relationship, full of romance with a family of my own. Also living on a little property with goats.”
IZZY, 29, QLD, @izisgram
“My dream date is arcade games or something adrenaline pumping,” HR adviser Izzy said, “followed by Mexican food and frozen margaritas.”
ROXI, 29, QLD, @roxikenny
Roxi, a mechanical engineer who’s halfway through a law degree, drives a “beautiful BMW sports car” and lives in her own unit said that, “on paper”, she’s “a catch”.
AREEBA, 25, NSW, @reebzsyd
Home loan officer Areeba describes herself as a “boss at work, a boss at home and I’m a boss with my relationships”. “Deal breakers are if he is disrespectful to my family, doesn’t like my dog or he is not funny,” she said. “Personality is everything.”
BEL, 25, NSW, @belcolwell
Media buyer Bel’s perfect man is “someone who is supportive, kind and can see the humour in most situations”.
IRENA, 31, VIC, @irena_srbinovska
Irena, a nurse, describes her perfect man as “someone who is going to bring out the best in me, challenge me, is witty, smart and funny”.
CHARLEY, 25, QLD, @charleyjasmin
A dream date for PE teacher Charley would involve “going to the park and having a kick around with a soccer ball or playing some one-on-one touch football”.
GEORGIE, 32, TAS, @georginaglass
Georgie, a project manager, isn’t looking for someone to “tick all of the boxes” or for someone who “looks a particular way”. “I’m looking for someone who looks at me with feeling, gives me butterflies in my tummy and makes me feel loved,” she said.
CLARE, 26, WA, @clareellenlange
Admin assistant Clare’s perfect man is “someone who is family orientated, likes to have a good laugh – even at their own expense – and someone who is truly your best friend”.
BELLA, 25, NSW, @bellavarelis
Marketing consultant Bella catches Locky’s eye straight away, if this season’s teasers are anything to go by. “Sorry I just got lost in your eyes, they’re beautiful,” he tells the 25-year-old. Bella said she falls for someone “very quickly”. “But sometimes, that includes falling for the wrong person and ends with me giving them way more chances than they deserve,” she said.
LAURA, 24, WA, @lauracalleri
Laura, a marketing co-ordinator, plans on winning over Locky “with my sass and banter – what guy doesn’t love a sassy little Italian girl?”
ZOE-CLARE, 23, QLD, @zoeclaremcdonald
“After my last relationship, I focused heavily on work and kind of shut-out the opportunity to meet someone,” sales manager Zoe-Clare said. “I plan on winning over the Bachelor by being me. I want him to see how much I care about my family and the people I love.”
LEILANI, 27, NSW, @leilanivakaahi
Asked what her dream date would be, partnerships manager Leilani said it would involve “some activity like skydiving, followed by a beach picnic dinner and maybe skinny-dipping when the sun goes down”. No surprises then that while her perfect man would be “self-motivated, career-driven, and supportive” he’d also need to have a “naughty side”.
MARG, 23, VIC, @margzogoulas
Car sales consultant Marg said she’s really proud of who she is “and what I can bring to the table in a relationship. I just give myself wholeheartedly to whoever I am with”.
NADINE, 30, VIC, @nadinee__k
“My perfect partner would be someone who shares the same morals and values as myself, is respectable and calm, but knows how to be a man and can take control,” entrepreneur Nadine said. He’d also have “good work ethic, plus loves his family and animals”.
ROSEMARY, 23, QLD, @rosemarys.cloud
Rocking up dressed in a penguin suit, retail manager Rosemary will no doubt make a lasting impression. “Sometimes I can be too honest,” she said, “speak without a filter and I swear a bit. But I’m working on that.”
NICOLE, 26, NSW, @nicolegloria
Nicole is set to make an impression on Locky almost instantly. “Nicole has a lot of energy and that’s someone I want to be around,” our Bachie tells the cameras after meeting the professional dancer. The 26-year-old said while she’s quiet and reserved at first, “once I’m comfortable I’m quite a confident, fun loving, energetic person and always up for a good time”.
The Bachelor premieres tomorrow night at 7.30pm on Ten.
