‘It’s so embarrassing’: Bachelor star’s brutal rejection

There’s nothing worse than getting rejected — except maybe when it happens multiple times and on national TV, as one Bachelor contestant found out.

Bachelor in Paradise Ep 16 Recap: Love, Marriage & Misery

There’s nothing worse than getting rejected — except maybe when it happens multiple times and on national TV.

Elora Murger made her debut on Tuesday night’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise determined to shake things up and “play the game”.

But instead Elora, who first appeared on Matty J’s season of The Bachelor in 2017, was rejected by not one but four different contestants in excruciating scenes almost too hard to watch.

It was her second time on Bachelor in Paradise after a short stint on the reality show last year.

Armed with a date card, Elora first tried her luck with Alex Nation after revealing the two had previously shared flirty messages on social media.

It was the second same-sex date for Alex in Fiji, with the reality star previously sharing a kiss with Brooke Blurton during a romantic rendezvous earlier that season.

But apart from some racy hand holding during their boat ride, Alex was quick to shut down any chance of things going further between them because of her relationship with Bill Golding.

“I’m definitely attracted to you that’s for sure,” Alex said. “But I feel like had you come in earlier I feel like you and I would have really like (hit it off) straight away. Obviously my feelings for Bill are really, really strong.”

Devastated, Elora decided to try her luck with Nathan Favro and then Connor Obrochta, only for both of them to reject her.

“Im definitely flattered that Elora attracted to me, it feels good,” Connor said afterwards.

“But honestly that feeling’s not mutual, and I just feel bad because she’s not vibing with anyone here.”

Elora had one last chance to make her time on Bachelor in Paradise last more than 24 hours — Mack Reid, who was desperate to find love on the show and struggling to sustain a romantic spark with Zoe O’Brien.

“I want to be completely bold here and I just want to say this is where I’m at, that you’re my only person that could give me a rose,” Elora told Mack.

“It’s unfortunate timing, it really is. It’s a real tricky one and I really feel sorry for you but I think my rose is going to Zoe tonight,” Mack replied. “I also want the best for you, and unfortunately it’s some bad timing, it’s unfortunate, I’m sorry.”

Shocked that she had now been rejected by four different people in the space of day, Elora ran off crying, complaining that it was “so embarrassing” to fail to find love on Bachelor in Paradise a second time.

“It’s embarrassing to not get a rose again. I just feel like I’m a fool,” Elora told Florence Alexandra in between sobs.

“I’m pissed off, it’s so embarrassing.”

To make matters worse Elora had to wait through an entire rose ceremony to have her fate confirmed, an elimination ceremony that included Connor asking an ecstatic Shannon Banff to leave the show so they could continue their relationship in the real world.

Bachelor in Paradise continues Wednesday night 8.40pm on Network 10
