Bachelor’s lie about Brooke

ON Wednesday night, viewers watched as Nick was dumped by Brooke. But the Honey Badger had a very different story for his family.

ON Wednesday night Australia watched as series favourite Brooke Blurton decided to dump Nick Cummins and walk away from The Bachelor.

The 23-year-old tearfully decided to walk away after accusing Nick of not showing enough emotion towards her.

“I came here to fall in love ... I need a guy that knows what he wants and can tell me that’s me,” Brooke told Nick.

But during Thursday night’s finale, Nick had a rather different explanation for her departure from the show.

When his sister Bernadette asked where Brooke was, the Honey Badger said she had decided to leave the show for a completely different reason.

“What happened? We were all a little surprised she wasn’t here?” Bernadette asked. “We would have thought she would have made it to the end … did she want out?”

“Yeah, she said, ‘I can’t be here, I miss my family,’” Nick said. “I wanted her to stay around but I wasn’t going to let my selfishness get in the way of her happiness. So, painfully, I let her go.”

Nick’s fib didn’t go unnoticed by viewers on Twitter, as did his family’s reaction to the news that Brooke wasn’t in the picture.

Actually, Brooke didn’t say she was leaving because she missed her family. She said she wanted you to be straight with her and tell her whether she meant something to you or not, Nick. And you couldn’t do that. Starting to see why you’re single. 😂#TheBachelorAU
