The Bachelor: Surprising question Brooke Blurton wouldn’t answer
BROOKE Blurton opened up about why she dumped Nick on The Bachelor last night — but things took an awkward turn when this question was put to her by news.com.au.
BROOKE Blurton shocked fans by dumping Nick “Honey Badger” Cummins during last night’s explosive episode of The Bachelor.
Her decision, which left both of them in tears, came about after what appeared to be a very romantic body-painting date. At the next rose ceremony, the Perth-based youth worker pulled Nick aside before he even had a chance to offer up two roses to the remaining three women — and in the blink of an eye, she was being whisked away from the mansion and out of the competition.
Amid her post-exit media blitz this morning, Brooke, 23, spoke to news.com.au about why she made the surprising call.
“There’s no regret with the decision that I made — I one hundred per cent went with my gut, and I wasn’t getting feelings reciprocated the way I wanted,” she said.

Given that the rose ceremony was shown right after their steamy date, Brooke’s decision seemed kind of abrupt. But when asked about the actual timeline, she became surprisingly cagey.
News.com.au: “It looked like you guys had your date and then went into the rose ceremony pretty much, but how much time was there between those two (events)?”
Brooke: “I don’t think that’s, like, appropriate. Yeah, I don’t really need to answer that. It was a good amount of time for me to come up with that decision, I think it was enough for me to realise that it wasn’t what I wanted.”
Brooke did open up a little on how she reached her decision, explaining that she’d been considering it for some time, and that it hadn’t been as sudden as it appeared before the rose ceremony.
“I actually thought about it and slept on it … it wasn’t easy,” she said.
“I made that decision by myself. Obviously there was a lot of thought — I was thinking about it quite a bit. No one knew, which is probably why it was a massive shock, and a massive shock to Nick too.”
Brooke also admitted it was tough to watch the episode back last night.
“It can bring up some feelings that you had there … I’m feeling good now, but last night was definitely emotional.”
The Bachelor finale is on tonight at 7.30pm on Ten.
